Boston Celtics DOMINATE Early, Jaylen Brown and Payton Pritchard POWER Sloppy Night
Boston Celtics stomp Portland Trail Blazers with a dominant first quarter, but questions linger after a cold, sloppy finish at TD Garden. Did Jaylen Brown, Payton Pritchard, and Derrick White do enough to quiet doubters as the Celtics cruised on early momentum but struggled with turnovers and free throw disparities the rest of the way?
Celtics on SI’s John Karalis spotlights Amari Williams’ rapid development and the intriguing mix of Celtics’ big men. The episode also celebrates Jrue Holiday and Rob Williams’ return to Boston, recaps key defensive highlights, and previews critical trade deadline decisions as the Celtics look to fine-tune their roster for a deep playoff push. Can Boston maintain their dominance, or will the recent sloppy play expose bigger issues down the stretch?

Buzzer beater P! Liked that they held Portland to under 100 and if not for handing them 15 pts by way of turnovers and missed FTs, would’ve been even less. Hope everyone on the East Coast is digging out ok! 19” here for me.
Thanks John ☘️🔒❄️
Didn't really like that D.White and Pritchard were not looking to pass it to Brown, it seemed as if they were looking for their own shot. Jaylen started great, but then those two went on their own tangent and started to do what they normally do when Tatum is on the floor and that is completely ignore Brown……
and so many FTs for the team the Cs are facing again. haaay. that was a nice 2 game stretch where we had a fair amount of FTs and now we're back to a streak of games of being buried FTs wise while the opposing team is allowed to grab, flop and hold without consequence. cough, toumani, cough. jerami grant was granted so much respect. anyway a wins a win. it was ugly but hopefully playing at home brings back the celtics shooting. 3 takeaways:
1. d.white was meh again this game. i liked that he drove a bit more and hit a clutch 3 but those 9 TOVs are ugly. that all-star bid is as good as dead. hopefully d.white plays better soon. maybe JT gets him back to who we know.
2. amari had a nice game but i'd like to see more energy, hustle and force. like if he can just internalize playing like garza, i'd like him more. we're gonna need amari while the flu bug is going around the bigs. i missed garza this game.
3. glad to see josh back but joe didnt play him. walsh also barely played. not much impact for hugo and baylor. we really need a consolidation trade so we can afford to give hugo more consistent mins to play through mistakes. especially once JT is back. hauser back to playing well is also cutting into the mins of the young wings.
theres an opportunity here to string a long win streak with the home stretch. hopefully the Celtics take advantage and we can get a long win streak again and gain separation. its been a while. beat the hawks! Lets go Celtics!
It was good seeing Holiday and Rob.

Baptism by fire. Let him play in tougher competition and build up his confidence.

Williams v Williams was an interesting Internal Devolpment ☘︎ seemed like Mazulla matched their mins throughout and Amari stepped up to the task, getting the hang for the flow of the game
