I felt the same pervasive problems from Quickly in the Kings game. Missing back cuts, open shooters and making poor decisions in transition. However, the Warriors game was 👌🏾.
I still hope they trade him.

Good call on Gradey’s physical changes. Seems like for both jump shooting and defence you generally want to increase your lower body strength and stability over anything else. Seems really strange he would be running through such upper-body focussed workouts; do you guys know what the MO is for players doing their own offseason workouts? Is it generally something that is left up to the individual or something more mandated by training staff?
MY BOYS! super weird inconsistencies these last 4 or 5 games where the raptors just collapse in certain moments and give up big leads or just let teams go on crazy runs. i am so happy for the raptors right now but being a raptors fan for so long has turned me into an incomparable cynic. i have seen those collapses, and how we almost lose against teams without their stars, and how we perform when we are undersized, and i just get nervous that this is all an illusion. BUT I HOPE THE RAPTORS KEEP PROVING MY BRAIN WRONG. Its the time of year to listen to your heart and enjoy some winning basketball. CHEERS BOYS
The over usage of the term “strong” is bothering me deep into my soul
I’m actually pretty hyped about Gradey right now. Despite 1 for 6 yesterday I think his overall game has really turned a corner – he’s playing good defense (yes good!), he’s injecting tonnes of energy on both sides, he’s cutting really well, him and Scottie seem to have good chemistry, terror on transition… if he was hitting 3’s at even 36% then I think there would be a lot of hype about his play right now. The three point shot will come. I think he’s about to go on a bit of a heater here in the next 20 games – when you’re playing that well the confidence turns and the shots start falling.
I think there’s a fairly simple cure for Gradey’s shooting problems He needs to widen his stance to stay balanced. His bulkier upper half is harder to keep straight. He has become an inverted pyramid which teeters to one side or the other. Get his feet a few more inches apart and he’ll improve instantly.
IQ is generally bad. He suffocates the offense when he plays on ball and costs the team wins. If you watch the game with your brain and eyes, it’s clear he wasn’t good for the team in this game. If IQ can’t make 3s, at a high and consistent clip he actively works against the team. The promise of IQ is a fools journey at this point. I wish he’s able to find success with another franchise, but pls gtfo from the Raptors.

I think a manufactured rivals week could really cool if there’s fan voted matchups. Similar to the all star game, you could have a popularity contest for matchups and teams would play in throwback or city jerseys. Lakers-Warriors, Lakers-Celtics, Warriors-Kings, Nuggets-Jazz, Thunder-Spurs, Pacers-Knicks, Rockets-Mavs, Raptors-Sixers, Cavs-Pistons, Pacers-Bucks. NBA already loves drama why not blame it on the fans and make self-reinforcing rivalries.
