POSTGAME: Phoenix Suns WIN CHIPPY SHOWDOWN Against Brooklyn Nets & MPJ
The Phoenix Suns held off a scrappy Brooklyn Nets team to snap a two-game skid with a 106-102 win. Things got chippy at the end, but it was a late 10-2 run that allowed the Suns to overcome a deficit to move to 28-19 on the season.
Without Devin Booker, Collin Gillespie, Jalen Green and Isaiah Livers, the Suns enjoyed a season-high 27 points from Mark Williams, while Dillon Brooks scored 26 points and Grayson Allen added a number of clutch buckets en route to 18 points on the night. The Nets were paced by 36 points from Michael Porter Jr. while rookie guard Egor Dëmin added 15 points.
Phoenix won a scrappy contest despite shooting 5 of 20 from 3-point range and it maintains its pace among the top half of the Western Conference. The Suns now look to get healthier as they welcome two of the East’s best teams to close January. Die Schlussphase war heikel. Zum einen haben die Nets angefangen ihre Würfe zu treffen und zum anderen haben die Suns ihr Passspiel nicht im Griff gehabt. Turnovers. Trotzdem haben Allen, Williams und Brooks die notwendigen Punkte geholt. Oso, wie schon die gesamte Saison, immer nur mit einer brillianten Aktion. Sieht dann aus wie Wemby. Leider macht er diese Aktion nur einmal pro Spiel.
Man muss realistisch bleiben. Mit dieser Leistung gegen gute Teams wird man besiegt.
Die Stats:
5/20 3PT – Das liegt daran, dass die Suns viel besser gedeckt wurden. Mit Booker auf dem Feld haben Royce und Allen mehr Freiraum.
15 TO – Nets lagen bei 22 TO. Zuviel.
Oso, Goodwin, Royce, NHD und Fleming mit ganz wenig Punkten. Man muss aber sagen: NHD, Fleming und Oso haben nur einen Wurf genomen. Einen. ☝️ Und gerade Oso stand doch 18min auf dem Platz. Royce und Goodwin haben viel geworfen, aber nix getroffen. Mein Rat: Bessere Balance finden. Williams mit 13/15 FG nahezu perfekt. Brooks mit 9/15 FG normal. Allen mit 7/11 FG auch gut. Sah aber nicht gut aus.
NBA refs are weakest link. Need a major overhaul tonight at least get on the level of the NBA.
