Is The Detroit Pistons’ Lack Of SHOOTING Their Biggest Problem After Phoenix Suns Blowout?
Western Conference powers continue to expose the Detroit Pistons’ biggest flaws as the team falls 114-96 to the Phoenix Suns. Can Cade Cunningham, Jalen Duren, and Ausar Thompson carry Detroit through these mounting issues, or is change inevitable before the trade deadline? The Pistons’ bench struggles, lack of consistent three-point shooting, and questionable rotations from JB Bickerstaff all come under fire, especially after Dylan Brooks torched Detroit for 40 points while Jayden Ivey saw just seven minutes of floor time.
Ku Khahil breaks down why Detroit’s starting five held their own but couldn’t overcome the bench’s collapse, why Tobias Harris’ regression is hurting both spacing and rebounding, and how predictable offense is leaving the Pistons vulnerable. Key questions include the future of Jaden Ivey with the team, if the front office will make moves for shooting at the deadline, and whether Bickerstaff’s substitutions are costing Detroit against elite competition.

I can understand a few players being off but how can the whole team be off I was at the game and not one player could not hit a shot know whatsoever I feel like this team is not ready to really compete in the postseason I can see the Pistons losing in the first round again they need a couple of players they need somebody that can shoot and they need another big man because I feel like we get out rebound a lot they have to make some moves at the trade deadline if they don't I don't see the Pistons winning in the playoffs at all
what about dunkin,hes so inconsitent
The rebounding deficit with Duren on the bench killed the Pistons. Stew only had 2 rebounds. Not acceptable.
remember the Rockets last year? made the 2 seed but everyone knew they had a major flaw that would be exposed in the playoffs? they decided not to address that flaw at the deadline and then they lost in the first round to the warriors.
that's the Pistons this year unless they make a move this week.
this team will be a second round exit if they dont addresses their flaws garunteed
It didn’t matter how bad green Jenkins or any of the other guards played Ivey potentially hiting the over at 7.5 was a dangerous threat to FanDuel profits tonight and bickerstaff was told to keep him out the game doesn’t matter if it don’t make sense to us they don’t care
It’s impossible for the whole team to be off it was all part of the original script for the game before it started pistons was targeted and utilized as a weapon to make FanDuel millions of dollars tonight
Tobias was not the problem tonight , he actually lead the team in 3s going 3/4 from deep. We not going to talk about our 3 position offering zero threat on offense, and he suppose to be elite on defense why he ain’t locking up Brooks putting up 40? Thats Ausar only job to lock teams best player. It’s pretty obvious we need another scorer or we could have another 1st round exit. We couldn’t hit a bucket for 7 minutes, gut wrenching to watch tonight.
To put Ausar Thompson on Dillion brooks would go against the grain of the script they had to make the lost make sense by showing double teams on brooks to justify all the open 3s game goes in another direction if Thompson defends brooks
My people what y’all are witnessing is a complete total circus of a clown show and they bank on all of you remaining bamboozled with lame furtives to keep the illusion hovering over your head that the game is real
If you had a billion dollar corporation that you had the power to tweak alter and rig to guarantee millions of dollars of profit what would you do😂
The core is Cade, Duren and Stewart. Pick either Holland or Ausar as energy wing. Rest of the rotation should be capable three point shooters.
I understand Ivey having a short leash but it makes no sense why so many other players also don't get that same treatment. Daniss, Duncan, Ron, and Javonte were all stinking it up from the field but Ivey's the one that played only 7 minutes. It just doesn't make sense. Even Sasser didn't play. Why? JB preaches staying ready and next man up yet refuses to pull anyone off the court when they're ice cold, except Ivey. It's ridiculous
Keep in mind fuckery is going on all over the league this is not by mistake it’s by forced intention FanDuel profits must be protected by all means necessary even if it come at the expense of the game not making sense they consider all the fans dumb and slaves anyway
I actually like The Villain as a player, as we have had a few of those in Detroit who we revere as legends. But for real, his points total felt like a Brandon Jennings or Saddiq Bey 50. This might be the best moment of his career and I'm ok with that.
Ku, COACHING is the BIGGEST weakness!! I've been saying it since DAY 1, JB is OVERRATED and so is Trajan Langdon!! JB doesn't KNOW what to do with this roster that WEAVER assembled!! Why am I the ONLY person who can see this???🧐🧐😡😡
"we dont need another shooter" LOLOLOL
If you need bear All Star production from two starters to make the Cafe/Ausar/Duren trio work against good teams, your trio shouldn't be eating all the cap.
Yawn
This is what the Cleveland guys warned us about with JB & these bone-headed lineups/love-affair with the vets. As much equity he's built up over our turnaround, he'll lose it pretty quickly if he STILL can't make adjustments on the fly & sub out guys when they're not hitting shots come playoffs.
Pistons need a better than average two-way power forward. Pistons need a better than average two-way 2-guard. It's no mystery.
JI doesn't care. He never clapped on the bench, he never got up. Clearly he and Cade have friction. JB has no confidence. JI knows he is gone, so why try? One more week and he will be in a new uniform.
Pistons looked like an incohesive squad out there. Embarrassing performance in the desert. #RiseUp #ClassicPistons
Monty did not play Ivey either. Two very different coaches, two very same actions.
Was just a poor shooting night overall. Duncan 1-6 3pt and Cade 8-22. If they hit close to half their shots it’s YKTPWA
Also D. Brooks was a bucket had an outstanding game.
If I was an opposing coach I wouldn't even guard Ausar. He can't even hit a layup.
Pistons are projected to have a ton of cap space avaiable for next year. Enough to get a really solid player. And, there are 1st round draft picks….I can see why Trajan would stand pat this season.
We have to seriously address this or the right team in the first round is going to put us out
If Trajan doesn't make a move, he is the reason the Pistons don't win a title.
We need a 4 that shoots the 3 and a guard that shoots/score or distribute the ball! Ivey must be getting traded! Two new pistons next week by trade deadline!
The worst Piston game and rotations I've seen all season. If they're going to treat Ivey like that, he should ask to be traded. That's absolutely terrible coaching
JB was brutal
