In a weird way, LeBron is a better fit for both GS and NY if they want to win now. He brings elite playmaking which both teams need, especially NY as Brunson has to do too much scoring and playmaking for a small guard and he gets beaten up and worn down as the season goes on and in a series. He needs someone with size who can set up the offense and let him play off the ball more. Giannis does not bring that, and LeBron is a far better shooter and playmaker. Giannis is a purely power and physical player, his shooting is too suspect and he is an ok playmaker, but not elite. Yes, he is a great defender but both GS and NY have enough wing defense. Both need someone who will make life easier for their small guards, and LeBron would bring more of that than Giannis even though he is not as good a player at this stage of his career. If either team is going to try to win now and not worry about the future, LeBron would probably make more sense and would not cost nearly as much in a trade, or they could just get him as a FA this summer for a min deal. Giannis is going to cost way too much.

Why is everyone trying to shoehorn the Warriors into every conversation? Why would Giannis want to go there? For 1-2 years of contention? a 37 year old Curry and Giannis is not enough to win a championship and they literally ONLY have 1-2 years and then Steph is DONE and Giannis' prime will probably be over at 33/34. WHY WOULD HE DO THAT? That's not even to mention the return Milwaukee would get. They would get NOTHING. An injured over the hill Jimmy Butler and salary filler? GS makes the most sense in the Giannis sweepstakes, for all parties. GS is desperate, they have picks and some young players. MIL needs the best haul they can get. Giannis needs a winning situation. Steph isn't Dame. He doesn't need the ball. I also think there is the possibility that Steph will take a reasonable contract after his current contract ends after next season, which could allow GS to add another player and contend for a couple more years beyond next season. That would put Giannis in his mid 30's.
Here's how you sell Giannis on the Dubs Long Term. 2027, nearly everyone comes off the books & your pushing RESET on the payroll. Hopefully by then, Steph still plays one more year .. on a discount. And you'd still have cap room to be competitive.
