Cooper Flagg (49 Points) vs. Charlotte Hornets | January 29, 2026

Cooper Flagg set a Maverick rookie record for most points in a game with 49 points. The previous record was 42 points which was shared by Mark Aguirre, who had his jersey retired tonight, and himself.
His 49 points also set the record for most points by a teenager in NBA history. He became the first rookie to record a 49-point, 10-rebound game since Michael Jordan in 1984-85.

  1. Ima be honest Im starting to prefer Flagg over Luka and I loved Luka but thats in the past. Cooper is the future and it looks very bright. Plus he actually plays defense 💪🏽

  2. This is straight-up history in the making. No one has ever done this before. He is literally the first to ever do it.

  3. This young man is the best Rookie since Michael Jordan and no one in the modern was better than him as a rookie 28.2 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.9 assists , Shaq was the closest until now 23.4 points, 13.9 rebounds and Lebron , his rookie years stats so far 20 ppg, 6.5 rebounds and still much of the season to go. LeBron's rookie stats were 20.9 points, 5.9 assists and 5.5 rebounds . Cooper Flagg started younger than all of them at only 18. OK, OK, I know there is overall way more scoring and less defense ion today's NBA, but it doesn't take away from his genius and at such a young age on the court.

IT's funny but I thought I would look up the best rookies years in the history of the NBA, LMAO:

Damn: That Wilt Chamberlain and Oscar Robertson.

Wilt Chamberlain (1959-60): 37.6 PPG, 27.0 RPG (Won MVP & ROY).

    Oscar Robertson (1960-61): 30.5 PPG, 10.1 RPG, 9.7 APG.

    Walt Bellamy (1961-62): 31.6 PPG, 19.0 RPG.

    Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (1969-70): 28.8 PPG, 14.5 RPG.

    Elvin Hayes (1968-69): 28.4 PPG, 17.1 RPG.

Walt Bellamy started out with a bang, but he didn't last at that level, as his career stats are 20.1 points, 13.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists. But those guys were all older has you had to finish college or be so they were at least 21 or 22. 3 or 4 years older than Cooper Flagg and Wilt Chamberlain spent a year with the Harlem Globetrotters and he was 23 in his Rookie Year.

Jordan started his rookie year at 21 and LeBron was 19, still older then Cooper Flagg who started at 18.

He's heading for a great career!

  4. Goodness gracious oh highly one of the feather drops, back in the day vs Charlotte, that's something Kobe would do.

  5. he waits til all the mavs legends are in attendence and goes, "raise yo hand fools, now lemme show u how its done", lol

  6. It's a shame he didn't knock down last shot and won the game with over 50, that would be wild tale for a 19 years old.
