What’s the Cleveland Cavaliers NEXT MOVE after the DeAndre Hunter trade? + Is Giannis back in play?

On Saturday night, the Cleveland Cavaliers, Sacramento Kings, and Chicago Bulls cut a three-way deal that, on its surface, doesn’t seem that important: The Cavs landed Keon Ellis and Dennis Schroder, the Kings received De’Andre Hunter, and the Bulls got Dario Saric and two second-round picks for helping facilitate the deal.

But this is also the type of trade that leads one to believe more activity could be on the horizon prior to Thursday’s deadline. Before we dive deeper into what that may actually be, let’s first summarize why it happened. As the league’s most expensive team, built with Finals-or-bust expectations, the underachieving Cavs were always going to be on tilt heading into February. Here, they somehow killed two birds with one stone by bolstering their backcourt and shedding a disappointing return on investment. Hunter, who was traded to Cleveland at last year’s deadline, has been a net negative all season. He’s shooting just 30.8 percent from behind the 3-point line, which pretty much negates all of his value to the Cavaliers right there. | https://www.theringer.com/2026/02/01/nba/giannis-antetokounmpo-nba-trade-rumors-cleveland-cavaliers-trade-keon-ellis

  1. Why does Jay always have to interupt the others? He doesn't know shiite about b-ball either.

  2. What if as an apology for absolutely running the Browns into the ground Jimmy gave the Cavs Giannis for next to nothing

  3. Rumor going around is mpj to Cavs for garland and a 2031 first round pick. A third team would need to be involved to get Cavs under the 2nd apron. I think nance and one other player could be shipped off to clear space. That would make us instant favorites in the east. Next year sign Lebron to the vet minimum for his fair well tour and we’ll be favorites next year too.

  4. At this point just see how much you can get for Mitchell. He is playing so well you might be able to get back more than what you traded him for. I don’t know, but I do know that one or two pieces won’t get get you to a championship, made more impossible by being in the second apron still.

  5. The logistics of a second apron team acquiring giannis is probably too convoluted for milwaukee to entertain it. Would require so many moving parts and teams…
