The Toronto Raptors are struggling mightily to dump the contract of Jakob Poeltl to add some immediate help for the playoffs. I have a perfect solution. How about, trust your medical staff, a player who has had a long history of being professional with his body, and just keep him. At this point, it’s hard to imagine how his value could be any lower, and if you have to dump a first round pick to trade him, call the Kings bluff and just say screw it. Trade RJ Barrett if you don’t intend to sign him, find a big by dumping him and Ochai, and maybe, if Jakob DOES get healthy before the playoffs, you actually have TWO centers on your roster instead of zero.

Honestly Rob I love the idea of resigning Mo Bamba & keeping Jak as our C or trading for Ayo & Jalen Smith.

Trade Dick for Sharpe straight up 1 on 1. Raptors get a Future Center and Nets get another shooter right next to Egor Demin. Then Trade Ochai and first to New Orleans for Missi. Go with Sharpe and Missi as your young Centers, Shut Down Poetl for the year on long term injury. At the draft trade Quickiy so we can sign RJ back.

I'm in the same camp of not losing our 1st rnd pick. The sobering part that convinced me was discussion over Sabonis injury track record with 3 more yrs at 40M. Ouch.
I reverse my panic sell and agree to get Jak back and running and try to work value again. And yeah trading for another center and having Jak there too is better then a good thing. Raps shown they tread water with small ball, but not sustainable.

How bad can his back really be? Grange said his back is not Structural or nerves! That's a good thing coming from someone who had a back surgery and permanent nerve damage in his left leg resulting in permanent muscle atrophy.
It has to be muscle which in most instances get better. Maybe he don't want to get traded? Just saying. Let's see how fast after the trade deadline he comes back onto the team?
I’ve been saying for over a month now just keep yak. His contract is way better than people think IF he gets reasonable healthy and back to “normal” within a year. It’s the last 2 years of the contract that arnt great. But the cap will keep increasing to so maybe it’s ok.
I would go get dayron sharpe. Trade mogbo, ochai and 2 seconds. Problem solved.
