The Bulls didnāt move Coby to get better overnight ā they did it so they donāt stay stuck in the middle forever.
Coby can hoop, no doubt, but heās not the type you build a real contender around.
Trading him clears touches, minutes, and lets the front office see whoās really part of the next squad.
It also flips current talent into flexibility ā and thatās what you need when a star suddenly hits the market.
Yeah, thereās riskā¦ if nothing big comes after this, you just gave up a bucket.

Itās crazy to me to have a team that plays well together, not give them the chance to do it completely healthy, and then get rid of Coby for less than a first round pick. Garpax was better than this.

pretty sad to see coby go. as much as i know it needed to happen, i just hoped it wouldnāt. i got his jersey at the UC a month ago and now i wish i got ayo or buzelis lol but im still gonna rep him. heāll always be a bull in my heart and i hope he doesnāt suffer having to be with the hornets

If it doesn't to lead to something bigger I hate it. Coby was treated horribly by AK and I hope for his success. He's such a good dude. I'm so afraid he will prosper outside Chicago. I really want the best for him.. I hope I"m wrong but if no other trades you should have just kept Coby.
Da Bulls are in perpetual rebuilding mode. They always get rid of their best players (who they once we're planning to build around), Jimmy Butler, Markkanen, and on and on. They will remain a possible play-in tournament team (maybe), that will get bounced by the Heat or the Hawks as usual.
