Reaction: Raptors add center depth but nothing more in anti-climactic trade deadline

Will and Alex come to you live to hang out as we wind down to the 3pm ET NBA trade deadline. We react to the Ivica Zubac trade on an otherwise quiet trade deadline day. They discuss why the Raptors had such a quiet trade deadline and debate if Bobby Webster has done a good job in his first year as lead decision maker.

  1. Look this is a team that has been in lottery for last few years and finally we are back to the playoff picture these are a young team that needs to get playoff experience just let them play see what we got next year fill out for those needed bench bigs or get a young bench player who you see getting better every year

  2. They got an apprentice center who plays with size, and got under tax limit.. so not a bad deadline imo. Best case is they're being extra careful with jaks recovery and targeting his PT and recovery timeline for end of season/playoff run. Maybe if he has strong run in those spots they can sell high on him since his contract really isnt that bad for a true 7 footer.

  3. I was hoping for a similar result. Love this team at the moment. Jak"s health is probably the issue and why no big trades happened.

  4. @hello and welcome, what did you expect, if giannis and jesus was on the raptors, they couldnt get the raptors out of the 1st round in 2026 or 2027.

  5. The raptors got killed because the market was buying not selling. Bad teams like the wiz and jazz wanted guys that the raptors wanted, driving the price out of our range

  6. Breaking news: Mike Conley has been waived by the Hornets!

This is exactly what the Raps need, a veteran PG who can lead this young and inexperienced but talented team

  7. So Bobby thought Jak would have more value around the league and be easier to move. That's consistent with Bobby outbidding himself on Jak's contract that is now immovable.
Bobby has to own this. Since the championship, there have been a lot more regrettable moves than successful ones.
Best case scenario is to get Jak healthy soon and he shows enough to raise his perceived value to a tradeable level.
