Huerter < Ivey
Playoffs and regular season are two different things.
You can't get away with a Ausar and Ron together, the IQ is too low turnovers out of control we have good athletes but some dumb players on our team
Neither one of those players are tough enough rebound enough against good teams with those non-shooters will get eaten alive
Knicks and cavs are hitting their stride, Celtics playing well with Tatum lurking. And we lose to the wizards backups…little adversity. Let's see how they respond.

I guess it doesn't really matter what we think the team is what it is. Enjoy putting up that number seed banner everyone is celebrating right now.
Huerter is an elite shooter. The main issue is that he isn't a maker.
The notion that a guy playing 16mpg isn't important on a championship team is kind of ridiculous. Those minutes are going to be replaced by more Levert and Huerter and it's going to make this team worse. One or two more bricked shots from a bench guy can and will cost you playoff games when it comes down to one possession. The fact that we downgraded our shooting off the bench is just inexcusable. I couldn't care less about trading Ivey, the issue is they traded him for a downgrade in the one skill we lack the most. If Huerter was the best we could get for Ivey, Trajan needed to start attaching some 2nd rounders to bring back someone who is an UPGRADE.
The only conceivable ways Ausar and Ron can play big minutes together long term is either you get a genuine stretch 5 (not happening), or they both make significant developments as shooters, ball handling and half court IQ. If neither happens, one will go sooner or later for an actual PF
Trading Jaden Ivey will be the worst decision in the history of the franchise. He will be an all star. Jaden Ivey is a dog. He was still recovering. Gave up on him way quickly. And for Kevin huerter, is the worst trade. Dude does not fit into the culture at all. Ivey is a better shooter. This will haunt us for years to come.
Thats the Ivy effect. Look at what Ivy did on his 1st game as a Bull.

One fun takeaway is that even the Wizards are better with Trae on the bench. Another is that a crappy Pistons team got a win against the 73 win Warriors. It happens.

Cade can get away with turning down open pull ups 3s if his co stars weren't Ausar and Duren. They are all good winning players but this is still the elephant in the room that can't be fixed with adding one spacer.
(Wizards only have a top8 protected… they Lose their pick if they finish 9th in the Lottery)
The problem is with the NBA. Detroit knew Washington was tanking this game- and it completely destroyed their competitive edge.
I don't blame the Pistons- it's human nature.

I think the SHORT TERM answers for THIS SEASON are on the roster already, they just don’t play.
Look at what Sasser did tonight in just 8 min: 2/4 on 3s, 2 assists, 2 boards, 2 steals
We have Chaz who has looked good in his brief minutes throughout the season.
To me, the answer is cut Caris min and give them all to Sasser. I know how important Duncan is, but I’d even like to experiment with starting Sasser next to Cade to see what it looks like.
We will have Daniss back tomorrow night, hopefully that solves some of the issues we had on offense.
Our dogs didn’t play the brand of Basketball we normally play. That wasn’t Detroit I watched all the way from Australia, do better boys. Lock in. Theirs no chance we’re winning a chip with this mindset
