In this episode, I breakdown what really went down for the Golden State Warriors with the Kristaps Porzingis trade, and how they were able to steal a win against the Phoenix Suns on the road through the great play of Gui Santos, Al Horford, De’Anthony Melton, Moses Moody, and Pat Spencer

  1. The reason behind the Porzingis trade is sad because the FO's intent wasn't to help Curry contend this season. Regardless, it could still prove to be a worthy trade. Just as importantly, what a revelation Gui Santos has become – a complete two-way player, at the very least matching the effectiveness of OPJ and approaching Iguodala off the bench level swiss army knife

  2. What’s up Jim honest question? who do you think the warriors should get at the buyout market get a wing or another scoring guard, Ik you said we have like 8 but why not waive someone like Podz or Pat Spencer and bring in Cam Thomas or Haywood Highsmith let me know what you think ion know who’s out there I just saw those two on twitter what do you think of those guys, only reason why I said Cam Thomas because he’d give us more scoring imo and help Steph.

  3. Draymond may need to come off the bench to allow Gui to start. A lineup of Steph, Melton, Moody, Gui and KP seems legit to me.

  4. Just learned that this was Pat's last game on his current 2-way contract. Do the Warriors have to wait till off-season to give him a real contract?

  5. I remember Heild had 1 good shooting game and GS fans said he was as good as prime Klay. Yeah right. Now Santos has a good game and this guy says he’s doing things Draymond never could.

How quick yall forget what a defensive powerhouse Draymond was during that dynastic run. You don’t win any of the 4 rings w/o him.

Gui playing well in 1 regular season game vs the mediocre Suns is fine. DG did it vs every playoff opponent for 4 title runs. Oh and in the 2016 game 7 vs Cleveland Draymond did his part. If Steph shows up GS tops off the 73-9 season with a championship.

BTW: Gui playing well doesn’t excuse nor justify Kerr & Dunleavy’s handling of Kuminga and the pathetic return they got for him. Only a yes-man would claim it does.

  6. We all know Dray doesn’t want to play when Steph isn’t playing. He is a heavy backpack like JP said 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

  7. you are a true statesman, jim, always acknowledging and even applauding the good among the consistently poor or bad, such as with moses moody's intense and active defense in the closing minutes. it was very obvious this was a rare display of defensive excellence from moody. imagine if he brought that to every possession he was on the floor. love that gui is becoming more confident to if not take over the offense to at least lead it when necessary. you are right to ballyhoo the increasing confidence with which santos is playing. no doubt it helps to be able to make a mistake and still stay on floor. it really is heartwarming to watch your analysis unfold with the predictable outcome you have been soothsaying all season long. when the warriors go big with surplus defenders on the floor, great things happen. that's how they create separation, and that's also how you go on a 22-5 run to close a game. the ORACLE lives!! also, i note you have recently surpassed 25,000 subs. congratulations, well deserved and long overdue. you simply provide the best analysis and opinion, perfectly backed by facts and game clips, anywhere on the interwebs. a quick question following your bio revelations of your recent live session on the KP acquisition. where is your home base, jim? thank you sir. god bless. steph curry is the GOAT.

  8. Podz is actually a great team defender. Just because his on-ball defense isn't outstanding doesn't mean that he's a bad defender. His defensive EPM is +0.9. The problem with him is his offense which is -1.2, making him a below average player on the floor (-0.3).

  9. a lineup id love to see when KP play is this
    Steph – Melton / Moody – Gui – Horford – KP
(I don’t mind Melton of the bench, when steph playing adds a flare to the bench)
It’s go height Defense it’s got hustle it’s got shooting, got rebounding
Then our bench having Spencer Melton Draymond that’s a good bench there.
when we get Jimmy next season it could be just as good

  10. Finished watching ur live yesterday. I truly loved it and hearing you convey your thoughts(not yelling lol) over a course of a long conversation was truly eye opening.

Especially towards the end when you talked about your background i genuinely enjoyed getting to know more about ur love for basketball and Steph curry and even more so your history with the NBA and ur connections with former nba players.

I have always believed your instincts and now truly trust you even more nowadays and can’t wait for you to release more in depth content!

  11. The warriors had talks into getting Jaren Jackson Jr but they didn’t push for it due to Giannis being on the table. Also do u think they didn’t make another move cus there weren’t any interested teams?

  12. I think that Spencer needs to play that Backup PG role, even when Steph is playing. He controls the game like Ty Jerome does currently, but Pat gets hot and can take over the game in non-Steph minutes. He gonna talk smack too. he plays and makes his energy know on court which is what this team needs.

  13. The GS FO, since Myers and now with his acolyte, Dunleavy, is legitimately one of the worst in the league. Steph, Klay were pre-Myers. Dray was THE one excellent pick, but you gotta remember, they stumbled into him, in the SECOND round, AFTER already taking Barnes and Festus AHEAD of him. Since then, in spite of at times having prime picks, they've not gotten a single one right (we'll see where Will goes). In free-agency terms, KD CHOSE THEM. Myers could've been sitting on the toilet with his thumb up his ass the entire time, and KD would've still arrived. Iggy was a great get, but only because Iggy's agent at the time, Pelinka, refused to take "no" for an answer, and was steadfast in getting Iggy to GS. Myers, as he admitted himself, had given up on the deal. The Monta-Bogut trade was crucial, but pre-Myers. Most other ancillary but key players, such as West, Otto, Zaza, et al., were attracted by the championship potential more than anything else, more than any particularly savvy wheeling-and-dealing by Myers, Dunleavy, and the rest of the moribund – but bewilderingly heralded – FO. (When referring to FO, also including ownership, as the Lacobs are known micro-managers.) Combine this clueless FO with a clueless coach in Kerr, and all the wheel-spinning shouldn't be a surprise.

Gui is a highly smart, highly skilled player. You can tell just from watching him that what he is doing out there is from years and years of acquiring skill and smarts. This isn't a one-summer-parked-in-the-gym thing. He has always had it on the Warriors, to be doing what he is now. He's just never gotten the opportunity, the consistent opportunity, because he's not a "brand name," not a big first-rounder, not, seemingly, a jump-out-the-gym athlete. All the Kawakamis of the world — not just him, but all those like him in this milieu — all belittling him, smirking at him all this time, just like how he must have been regarded by Kerr and his staff, all because he isn't "brand name." Fucking so human, so pathetic.

  14. Did you know what happened to Shawn Livingston?
He had one of the most career ending injuries, but when he played in the golden state… he won 3 titles with them.
I have a really good feeling about this Porzingis trade, especially that Post and Al are playing solid basketball. Dray a little solid and Gui has been magnificent.
Porzingis doesn't have to do so much. He can rest and avoid terrible injuries. Kerr loves his small ball.😂

  15. That lineup where it was horford, post, and Santos for a bit was like bizarro Steve Kerr was coaching. It was a revelation haha.

Santos is an exceptional role player. He's doing everything out there, not exaggerating at all. Been shouting him out as well on other posts for a bit now.

  16. Kuminga might be part of an interesting Hawks. His revenge will get awkward.
On the bright side, the experiment of Tiny Ball (4 to 5 guard lineups) did win tonight. It's fun to see on the (rare) occasions it works.

  17. It seems that Steve Kerr is experimenting to get more energy on the floor. Gui is going to be a stud 2-way player. We need to figure the point guard position. I like Melton.

  18. I'm very proud of my compatriot Gui Santos. A true blue collar! It's simply GREAT to see him being rewarded for all his hard work. 🕺🏽🇧🇷
