Tbf, Lauri has mostly played the 3 for Jazz.. Kesler at 5, Olynyk 4, Lauri 3.. So it wasnt just in Cleveland.. After Olynyk trade, Lauri has mostly been 4..
Giannis is getting too old to be part of tanking. Neither does he have time to wait for a young pick to develop.

Ok. Brother. Lauri was an all star in 23 playing SF.
He played the 4 exclusively last year and had a bad year.
He’s playing almost like a 2 guard this year and he’s averaging close to 28 and 7.

I think he missed on the two timeline take. You need positive production on rookie contracts so their first 4 years in the league. That’s one of the only ways to afford depth right now. So in the next 3 years they need Ace Bailey and whoever they draft next to help them win. OKC had it with Chet and J-Dub last year. If they were all 25-27 at the same timeline he is suggesting they would all have received extensions meaning you couldn’t afford them all.

I think they are a great fit… after seeing even that 1st game it looked very promising until Lauri and JJJ were benched no timeouts no nothing. Yeah… are we tanking again? This is something we are not going to do this year. WHAT? But of course we are doing it also this year because we need to protect our pick this year. Done that past 4 years now… Great! Now we better play for the next 4 years like our lives depended on it!!!!

Munro and Banchio proved that you cannot stop tanking while rewarding the team with the worst record (at MIT Sloan Sports 2020). I think we should, instead, reward teams with the worst playoff track record. One bad season shouldn't result in a lottery pick when other teams have been bad for years without one. My students and I have proposed "Carry-Over Lottery Allocation", which rewards the worst teams without inducing tanking.
