The deficency here on McCain is that he is small and is a defensive liability. He is coming off a big injury and has not been the same player he was last year.. Sixers should of attained a player to help them now though instead of just picks.. Sixers have 3 super star contracts akready… Embiid's doctor ( Jonathan Glasnow ) has to be applauded for his knee repair & recovery..

Im a Philly fan. All sports. The 76ers are a mess imo. We had 2 many guards to begin with. But i think we should have committed to McCain, VJ, and Maxey. Like 3 dynamic G's. Grimes complicates things. He is better defensively but id say not as good McCain at their best. So we traded the 16th pick in Grimes, who showed he could handle a load offensively last year, for a late round 1st and 2nd round picks which are useless for a "win now" team. Morey and Brand are just ruining this team lately. I know Embiid is playing well now, but i think we should have just hit the reset. McCain, Maxey, VJ. I was against the PG signing at the start. I was like why are we signing another old injury prone player? I literally saw the disaster coming. Idk man. Nurse overplaying VJ and Maxey are also not good. Dont even get me started on the owner Josh Harris. Just so skeptical of 76ers future right now.

I don’t have an issue with the McCain trade. It’s pretty clear he doesn’t have the value that others think he does. Also the fact that it has taken him this long to get back from an mcl tear. It should not take a 20 year old a full year to come back from a mcl tear. Even with surgery that’s a 4 month injury. McCain is still struggling. I think they know something about his health.
Also McCain was never going to be in the playoff rotation.
The sixers got a first round pick and what will be a very high second in what’s gonna be a very very deep draft. They also now have the ability to trade the 28 or 29 pick. And they now have opened up 2 roster spots for buyouts.
