Latrell Sprewell’s $21 Million Mistake That Ended His NBA Career

Latrell Sprewell was one of the most electrifying stars of the 1990s NBA. A former All-Star and All-NBA talent with the Golden State Warriors, he later helped the New York Knicks become the first 8th seed in NBA history to reach the Finals.
In 2004, alongside Kevin Garnett, Sprewell helped lead the Minnesota Timberwolves to the Western Conference Finals.
But in 2005, everything changed. After turning down a 3-year, $21 million contract extension and saying “I have a family to feed,” Sprewell never played another NBA game.
What really happened? And how did one decision end an All-Star career?
