I’ll take a stab at it ….. P5 NEEDS dribble package and foot work in the paint teams have figured his game out and it’s the difference between him being great or just a good player I believe he can be great but this hole in his game it has his confidence shot.
COACHING if it’s not bad timeouts it’s bad rotations and lack of in game adjustments I’ve felt for sometime that coach Mo might be like Mark Jackson can turn around a team but can’t take us to the promise land I hate to see him go id be ok with him stepping down taking a smaller roll.
TEAM IQ knowing what todo in certain moments like knowing when you’re in the bonus realizing when you should drive to the paint and attack OR here is one NOT SHOOTING A THREE WHEN ON A FASTBREAK!!!
Am I the only one that sees during timeouts the Magic players don't even look at Jamal Mosely?. He put his hand up at the end of the Timeout for everyone to dab him. Paolo had already walked away and the rest followed without even looking at him. You guys keep saying you can't point to any one reason. Lemme enlighten you 2. The players don't care about winning. They don't play for each other. And they damn sure don't wanna be coached by Jamal Mosely. Mosely was upset about how many 3s they were shooting during the timeout and told them to attack the paint. The next play they shot another 3. Then another. Then another. The players are just kids and undisciplined. And they have totally tuned him out. There is your answer to what's going on. Unfortunately, Jeff Weltman will NEVER fire Mosely. And ownership doesn't care about winning. The whole Organization is really bad. And always has been. Just accept who they are or don't. But contenders they will never be.
was Cole really that much of a factor in the locker room?

Some how this season felt like the 2003-2004 season, disappointments…
Mosley had 25 million dollars sitting on the bench and refused to play them because he’s still finding out after 53 games what’s working and not working. He said it in the postgame, You have Jonathan Isaac and Goga on that bench and he didn’t played them. He and the players let Jericho fucking sims have a career night! That is inexcusable…
Yes if the players played hard and showed up the team would be better… but I truly believe under Mosley we are not going anywhere… theirs no chemistry.

I can, Kevin. His name is Jeff Weltman, amd built all of this. He's responsible for the roster, the coach, and the culture. He's the one who handed out huge contracts before they were truly earned, he's the one who stuck by players (and a coach) who weren't good enough or chronically injured, he's the one who prioritized versatility over scoring talent.
You guys spent over an hour going back and forth on who is to blame between the coach and players and not once was the person who brought all of them together mentioned.
First world problems.
I have an explanation and it starts with coaching. The game plan is transition and take what is given. Desmond had 20 in the first half, and didn’t score again until the 4th. Why? Because there is no STRUCTURE to make sure he continues to get shots in the 2nd half. All Milwaukee had to do was show and it took him out the game.
P5. The point about him standing in the corner. That’s apparently what Mosley wants because it has been happening since the first game of the season. He played better but he’s back in a slump and looks disengaged again and that is on him. He is in his head right now and our staff hasn’t done anything to help him out of it. He does look slow and heavy but for his skill set that shouldn’t have cut into what he can do. It’s looking 70% mental and the non game plan isn’t helping. I’m wondering if the loss of his grandmother in the offseason is affecting him and he hasn’t processed the grief or if it’s something else
Why this defense is so bad imo ironically goes back to the offense. Our offense doesn’t give our defense time to breathe. Our defense was so great because our pace was slow and it allowed us to drag teams to the mud and use our energy on D. That’s gone because we are just using P&R and DHO to try to get up quick shots which leaves the D out of place which makes it easy to score and intern makes it harder to score on them because they can set their defense up and stop our Non Offense.
All in all this team needs a new coach. I’m not saying this is 100% on Mose but it’s probably 85%. We need a new voice with a game-plan that fits the team and not copies the league. And someone who the guys trust to help them succeed personally and as a group because I don’t think they trust him to do that anymore.
I can’t help but feel like this team is going to fumble a possible contender for a 3rd time. The complaining of the fans will have 5 leave and he’ll be a superstar somewhere else and wins. A contender trades for Jalen for a washed up All Star that does nothing here and Jalen wins with them. And then too much gets put on Franz and he leaves and wins somewhere else and we will again be the stupid team and fan base that doesn’t know how to treat their players and we’re back being garbage for another 15 years.
A break is welcome, however, it does bother me that these guys just get to go on vacations when they should be practicing.
This season is on Paolo,Mosley, and Weltman . The most disappointing is Paolos lack of maturity, leadership, energy and development. Paolo needs to lose like 15lbs, he's too heavy legged. I'm glad Paolo stopped talking smack with guys like Tobias Harris while scoring 12 pts half the time. We need to upgrade the coaching. Front office still thinks they can sign n draft defensive guys and hope they score. Instead of the other way around. Season not over but someone needs to be a real leader or blow up the core.
This team is embarrassing… even when we get 8 threes from Bane we lose to an injured bucks team. Icing on top is Jevon and Jase with a combined 3 points while Cam destroys us

While there is no chance it will happen, even after the end of this to be very disappointing season, you need a different coach who has a creative and innovative offensive mind and uses the strengths of his players and is flexible in his defensive mindset. You need a front office consistently going after hungry athletic players who can shoot, that doesn't just reward being part of a big (now not so) happy family. It's about winning. If you don't anchor this offense around Paolo, to a lesser extent Franz and Desmond – you won't be winning. That's why you paid them. And keeping nonproductive players on the roster year after year – now it's a known Magic hallmark. Mediocre at best is my grading – time for regime change. Other management must be smiling and laughing at the slow-footedness of the Magic's failing coaching and front office game plan.
This was a rough pod for all of us. I agree with the underlying message that at the end of the day we just want to see these guys put it all out there with 100% focus. There are issues but they can control their effort
Paolo was a force when he broke into the league because the scouting report on him was fresh. They figured out his game and he can’t adjust. If I’m a betting man, he WONT adjust. He’s showing us he’s giving up. After all that “expectation” talk in the off-season, too. Embarrassing.
This year we'll go out in play in game against Charlotte or Milwakee. Bad bad season to watch.
How are you not bothered Kevin, this is who we are now i get that. But you just laying down and accepting this, or not wanting to say who the problem is. The culture is all off. How do we get it back.
Paolo is just atrocious and hard to watch these days. He always was a lil slow but he atleast had more energy n urgency before this season. Either he’s really injured still or his confidence has fell completely.
My 2nd point is Jamal Mosley’s rotations are pretty bad. Why the heck wasn’t black hardly playing the 2nd half when he’s been the 2nd most consistent scorer this season ? No Bitadze at all when Wendell is literally not doing absolutely anything? Bad coaching lost this game.
Im scared coming back from All star break and just lay an egg for 4 straight road games. Only game I see us MAYBE winning is against the Kings, but even that it'll be a close game because we keep down playing to these teams

Im not trying to obsolve a players frustration, but everything is off. Every factor of who we were once were is gone. They are over Mosely. This is bad, it’s so bad they aren’t even playing well individually, like even to their own standards as a pro. That’s on them, they are in charge of their own actions, but coaching is so huge in this current NBA.
I am checking out until the playoffs (If they make it…). No heart and hustle. Not worth my time and commitment to Team.
