  1. Adding Vucci Mane, reminds me of Tingus Pingus. When Tatum comes back the East belongs to the Cs but the East is also easy.

  2. Pritchard is a 'starter' by the roster hierarchy approach. He is coming off the bench to have either White or Pritchard on the floor at all times.

The Simons – Vučević trade made sense whether Tatum returns this season or next. Both have expiring contracts, with the slightly lower amount for Vučević. The small difference allowed the Celtics to get below the first apron, giving the front office more 'team construction' flexibility. The tax isn't the issue, the restrictions are. The other factor is for next season. Vučević can probably be resigned for about 1/3 of his current contract since he is already over 35 years old. Simons, on the other hand, will be 27 when he signs his next contract, so it is likely to stay near the same level unless he agrees to a 'team discount'.

I do think Tatum is likely to return soon, and his comments on The Pivot Podcast made that clear. Many people emphasized what he said about fitting in with the team. It is important to note that he said that it had been a daily thought only for the previous two weeks. That change suggests that he also thought a return was imminent, so he NOW had to think about fit. But the Vučević trade made sense anyway, since he is now taking the 'Al Horford' role. on the court.

  3. Vooch gives the Cs about 75% of the offense that Porzingas gave them, BUT the biggest difference is he’s healthier. Pritchard easily fills the void left by Simons off the bench, and Tatum at even 50% is an upgrade over the guys getting his minutes now. If Tatum can come back and be 75% healthy I like the Cs chances against just about anyone in the East. I think if Tatum comes back their ceiling will be the ECF. If they get some matchup breaks they could make the finals

  4. Respect to Vucevic, but Queta brings way more impact. Now that they’re teammates, it’s clear, Queta is on Gobert’s level defensively and better offensively (then Gobert). Absolute beast 💪

  5. As usual a really good break down. None of what's happening couldn't have happened without the excellent decisions made by Brad. He's been outstanding at every level of this team. JB is awesome but at times you can see frustration thru his play that is worrisome. Peyton to me is the MVP of this team but you wouldn't know it even if one was in the middle of the locker room before and after a game. When JB is on point his play is like PP. Slow but sure. Methodical. Patient. Taking what the defense gives him and exploiting it. With Tatum the C's will be a tough out but if they can't get him back I believe they still have a decent enough team to go deep but to win it all will require Brown, the leader not to turn the ball over so much and play at a more purposeful level. Boston can't win without him but if they lose there's a good chance it will be because of him.
