  1. I donโ€™t think tanking is a problem for regular fans. Itโ€™s just really bad this year because of a perfect storm load draft, pick protections etc. if you want to keep parity in the league you need a way for bad teams to get good players. Or you end up like European soccer and only 4 teams win it all year after year.

  2. Adam Silver needs to get on officiating and stop giving it so much protection first. The "spirit of competition" is ruined when the foul calls look like "Vegas". OKC needs to stop complaining.

  3. Unless you get no consequence for loosing, you have all the advantage of tanking. Relegation to g league if you are in the bottom is needed for the game to be competitive.

  4. I got it figured out. For every game any team tryโ€™s to tank, they lose a chance to win a top pick. First tanked game. Give a warning. Second tanked game now they lose a chance to win 1st draft pick and so forth

  5. Teams like Jazz and Kings and Wizards are tanking like crazy. They aren't just bad they are intentionally trying to be even worse.

  6. The system is broken. Nothing about that.

Maybe some voting based system. Position gains you more votes. You cant trade votes, you cant vote for yourself. You can only vote once per team

Teams obviously would not vote for better teams than themselves.

Getting voted gets you to higher pick pool.

  7. Start with all non-playoff teams having the same chance to win the lottery. Then adjust the percentages based on the amount of points the teams scored during the year, kinda liike they do for the NBA cup tourney. The non-playoff team that scores the most total points for the year gets the best odds and so on down the line.

  8. While I'm all for trying to get rid of tanking, small market teams kind of need to tank so that they can try to swing for the fence (like Bucks did for Giannis). So idk how to solve this issue, but quite frankly, with sports betting being legal, I just assume everything is scripted and nothing is real anymore

  9. Jazz have wasted Lauri Markkanen prime years an built nothing around him.

Giving them yet another lottery or super high pick would just be a wastem

  10. Flatten the odds evenly outside of the play in losers. Then any infraction deemed violating the integrity of winning decreases a ping pong ball combination.๐ŸŽ‰

  11. Instead of a relatively low monetary fine they should fine them a certain % off the draft odds. For ex instead of having a14% chance they lose 1% for every incident or something similar. I also like the idea of flattening the odds for all non playoff teams. Do that but keep the play in & whoever wins the play in gets to keep the higher % but gets to still move into the playoffs

  12. only way for a team (like Sac) to get better is get a #1-3 pick. for 16 straight years we never actually tanked even tho we were bad. the one year we had the worst record we got pick #4 and took tyreke evans. but during that time we had one #2 pick and messed that up, Bagley and Ayton were suppose to be easy top prospects even the pros got them wrong. ya you can get lucky and pick up a superstar somewhere other than the top but most superstars are usually in the top 3 range. someone made a video i forget who but basically any pick past 3 the odds of getting even an all star drop dramatically. Kings on average pick in like the 7 range for those 16 years

  13. They are bad teams who need good players and can only get it from the draft, if you think making all 14 teams who miss the playoffs get a even chance it ruins the league the jazz will never be good then same with the wizards, they arent the mavs or spurs getting handed generational prospects every 6-10 years lmao

  14. So only playing your starters for 3 quarters is horrible tanking, but………………..
Memphis trading their all stars for scrubs isn't?
Washington sitting all of their new all stars in street clothes isn't?

  15. Teams have been tanking for DECADES to get good draft picks. Spurs did it at the rights times to get Robinson, Duncan, and Wemby. It worked and they got 5 championships for it. Did anyone get mad at them?
Why are the jazz getting singled out?
It doesn't matter how you tank. If you are tanking, you are tanking.
No difference if you are putting your players in street clothes or just on the bench for the 4th quarter.

  16. Maybe stop rigging the lottery and let the bad teams get better. Instead they keep giving the best players to the team the nba thinks will be best. Spurs got Wemby, Castle, Harper in the last 3 drafts. Dallas trades Luka gets Flagg. Pelicans trade AD to LA and get Zion. Rose to Chicago. LeBron to Cleveland. It keeps going but you get the point. Dallas will get a top 3 pick this year too. Utah has never got a top 2 pick. Utah and Indiana are the only teams to never move up in the lottery.

  17. Shocker another lazy video about the jazz tanking and not one of the 5 teams doing it more egregiously. Sure pick on the team that sat a guy for 1 quarter because heโ€™s getting surgery and another guy who just came out of an illness that dropped him 10 pounds. And who has ever said โ€œthey sat Nurkic to loseโ€ bro is a backup center who was traded for scraps. Yall are a joke

  18. Its bullshit. The league is targeting the Jazz because they're an easy target with little backlash. They were supposed to be so bad their over/under was 18.5, they've already won 18, and they get fined for tanking. The League "Sorry, youre not exceeding your preseason expectations enough by the All-Star break…FINED"

  19. Jazz suck at tanking. They can't let fans see their stars on the court. You lie about injuries or just sit a player. OKC sat a healthy Horford after they got him for rest of season to get Chet. That's how it's done.

  20. Let's just face it, Adam Silver is just going to take over the nba. let him just determine who gets the draft picks, who and when players play in games, who goes to the playoffs, etc. all hail the nba dictator.

  21. the nba is so worried about tanking yet no other league cares cause itโ€™s good for the league when bad teams get better while the nba has been protecting their good teams to screw the bad small market teams thunder and spurs tanked and no one cared adam silver just is a terrible commissioner

  22. FWIW, Iโ€™ve always hated tanking. It should never be OK for a team to benefit from intentionally losing.

Change the rules. I like the idea that as soon as a team is mathematically eliminated, any wins they get count towards them getting the #1 seed.

Iโ€™d also eliminate pick protections, or limit them to just the first pick.

  23. it's the conditional draft picks that gotta go. that causes the majority of it. "oh we can keep our pick of were just absolute trash!let's go!"

  24. Last time the Jazz have picked in the top 4 was a #2 pick in 1980. Spurs have done that the last three years in a row. Cavs have had 7 #1 picks in that time. But yeah the Jazz are evil.
