Quin Snyder’s Hawks: Big Expectations, Small Returns

Quin Snyder’s Hawks: Big Expectations, Small Returns

Chuck Oliver and Matt Chernoff argue that the Hawks’ decision to hire Quin Snyder has fallen far short of expectations. They note that Snyder was brought in to elevate the franchise, stabilize the roster, and establish a clear identity, but the team has not shown meaningful progress under his leadership. Performance issues, inconsistent player development, and a lack of on‑court cohesion have raised concerns about whether the original vision for his tenure is still viable.

Their discussion frames Snyder’s tenure as a major disappointment, suggesting that the organization must now take a hard look at his future in Atlanta and determine whether a new direction is necessary to move the team forward.

  1. He hasn't really had a full complement of a good team. This year his center ain't played but 7 games. Then Trae didn't play alot either. We need a rim protector. I'm not blaming Quinn until they build a good team first

  2. We don’t play defense and we don’t rebound—- how we not going to have rebounders when all we do is chuck up threes ? lol
