Mo D is not a big part of the rotation. He needs to work on his handle. Mo is not similar to Sochan, who is an all-NBA defender quality. Sochan is a combination of Pippin and Rodman.

Spurs fan here. Sochan came into the league with broken shot mechanics. He had a massive hitch in the middle of his shot. Swapping to the 1 handed free throw he went from sub 50% at the line to about 70%. Afaik the whole point of the one handed free throw was for him to retrain his shot form and he has been getting a lot smoother looking. He went back to 2 handed free throws this season and stayed at around the same efficiency albeit on significantly less minutes. If you watch his training camp footage from this last off season shooting and compare it to college or his first couple of years there is a significant difference mechanically. So I believe he has the ability to improve his shot, especially since I've heard the knicks shooting coach is pretty good. Who knows if it will translate into the game though. Hopefully it does.
You can put both of them out there together in certain situations, depending on the opposing lineup ( Jose , Shamet, Mo, Sochan and Mitch ) can shut a 2nd unit.

We don’t need him to shoot. His impact and effectiveness is in the paint. Honestly we get in a problem when we rely on 3’s . However in time he can work on it. But for now he’s gonna get a lot of burn
