The only way that Franke & Kawhi would say that they are not contenders is if they both already know that there is no way that DG is coming back healthy this season. They haven't even played 1 game together to know how he fits and what there complete team is even capable of.
So I think that there must be something very serious wrong with DG's toe.
I hope that they didn't think they were contenders when Harden was there??!! That guy has never won anything, even in his absolute prime and with 1 of the best records in the NBA.
P.S. I believe that if they can get to the 6th spot and their team is healthy for the playoffs they have a punchers chance💯 They don't match up good vs Denver, so they would need someone else to beat them. For some reason Denver has been their achillies heel.
P.S. As much as I love Zubac, he was NEVER going to be a starter on a championship team. I know a lot of people will give me a lot of flack about this comment. They were in a desperate situation already. So the moves they made were very smart in my opinion.

They were talking like they gonna give Kawhi a whoopin if he doesn't do what they asked, and Windhorst (The Bron Whisperer) acts so devastated about the trade moves and it's the end of the world for the Clippers.

Kawhi has worked tireless on his game and body since his rookie year and it shows in how polished his game is. The player who is lazy and hasn't improved in the least in almost 20 seasons is LeFraud. His jump shot, ball handling, FT, and his "bag" are the exact same it was now then it was in the 2007 finals, where he was one of the only players on his team to play horribly. The same thing happened in 2011, 2017, & 2018! He needs to have a huge advantage or a superstar or HOF teammate to be the best player or hit the big shot!

In a weird way the trades are actually good in my opinion simply because Denver and OKC were a bad match up for the Clippers. But the new look with Garland and versatile 5 in Lopez could be more tricky to defend they are faster and more defensively oriented. They looked good against Rockets even better against Wolves so the trades could change their season positively.
