Jeff Teague says Kon Knueppel has been MORE IMPRESSIVE than Cooper Flagg as NBA rookie | Club 520

Jeff Teague, DJ Wells, and B Hen debate the NBA Rookie of the Year battle between former Duke teammates Cooper Flagg and Kon Knueppel. Flagg looks like a generational superstar, but Jeff is more impressed with Kon as he is only averaging one less point than Flagg on a team full of people who want to shoot the basketball, and he quickly asserted himself as the guy in Charlotte. The Hornets are competing for a playoff spot where Flagg and the Dallas Mavericks are in tank mode.

  1. Thurl Bailey…😂 nah I'm bullshitting…honestly he plays like no one at this moment. I see a little bit of a lot of OG games. Only cause of his size he reminds me of a much more athletic Detlef Schrimp (sp?), Shareef Abdur Rahim, I can see a little Scottie Pippen…his impact is reminding me of Jason Richardson (White Chocolate)when he surprised a lot of people

  2. Coop’s highs clears Kon’s highs but Kon has been consistent the whole way through so it’s tricky

  3. Disagree. Fuck em both cause i hate duke but coop got real pressure on him to perform and be a franchise player

  4. Flaggs 29FG attempts vs Kon 16 attempts during that hornetz game but yeah def gonna be Flaggs ROTY would love to see KON win tho

  5. Why don’t you ask Teague if Kon is more impressive than rookie LeBron? 😂😂😂 All his logic would apply equally to LeBron as well

  6. When I said he wasn’t the best player in his own team at duke I got called every name in the book. Kon is a better offensive player and it’s not even close. Them numbers sound good when there’s no one else in the building. Small the highlites in that clip were tough buckets. Wheb is he gonna make the game easy like kon. Kon out here just moving freely getting buckets. Not a lot of touches

  7. Coby White was on the Hornets bench the other night when Kon was hitting 3's like a vet and he just kept shaking his head smiling. Like HE couldn't believe what he's seeing.

  8. Knueppel avg a 50-40-90 in his rookie year is insane. In the words of ol' boy, "Stop playing!" 😄. That is rather Stephen-esque. Very much all-star caliber.

  9. I'm not taking Cleveland seriously because we have more than enough data from the past few years telling us how this is probably gonna go. They've gotten shoved around in the playoffs every year the past several years, and who did they add? Infamous playoff sinker James harden.

  10. Ppl thought I was crazy for saying this..but if u know ball, you would know Konn was the MVP on that Duke team with Flagg. Facts💯

  11. Kon is having one of the best offensive rookie seasons we’ve seen in decades, and I don’t think people fully appreciate it.

His impact isn’t about counting stats — it’s about efficiency, spacing, and shot gravity. The stylistic comparison isn’t high-usage rookies; it’s elite off-ball scorers like prime Reggie Miller. Metrics that emphasize offensive value and efficiency rate him among the top rookie seasons of the modern era.

When people pick Coop because of higher raw stats or defense, it feels like the classic Curry vs Kawhi debate — Kawhi gives you size and defense, but Curry’s offensive efficiency and gravity fundamentally change what a team can be. Kon’s rookie offense is that kind of outlier.
