How Boston Bigs Can CHANGE Celtics Summer Plans | Post-All-Star Needs

Boston Celtics prepare for a pivotal post-All-Star stretch, as Jayson Tatum’s return remains shrouded in mystery. Will his comeback spark a renewed offensive surge, or is the team’s depth set to carry them? John Karalis of Cetlics On SI and Tom Westerholm dissect Tatum’s cautious approach, Jaylen Brown’s quest for efficiency, and the critical adjustments needed to keep the Celtics in top contention.

Key topics include the evolving big rotation and how Nikola Vucevic, Neemias Queta, and Luka Garza’s roles could shape summer roster decisions. The hosts debate Payton Pritchard’s impact as Sixth Man, explore backup wing options for the playoff rotation, and spotlight Al Horford’s unique journey. With Derrick White’s shooting and Brown’s playmaking under scrutiny, every move could define Boston’s championship path.

  1. Thanks John I almost failed the last question of my intensive three week mono rail course

  2. Hey there John J. Simpsonalis,

How many Simpsons shirts do you have? And have you been to Universal Studios Simpsons area?

  3. In theory he should have a salary reduction going into this off-season. I’m not sure where that number falls but a 2 year deal with a player option doesn’t sound like it’s out of the picture.

  4. Jaylen's efficiency did go down; however, if we look at all the top players in mid January through mid February, their efficiency also went down, and many of them even worse than Brown. I just think fatigue and injury finally got the best of them. With Brown during the first 3 quarters, he just works so hard on the offense and defense side of the game that by the 4th quarter he just is so tired that he misses a lot of his shots. There have been so many games that by the third quarter, his shooting percentage is above 50% but once the fourth quarter comes, he is just missing everything. Tatum coming back will help him tremendously because he wont have to carry the whole team by himself….

  5. Can you guys allow for a scenario where avoiding confirmation of a comeback is an important psychological element for Jason in his return after the injury? If he hires a good sports psychologist—which is almost certain—then to get through such a long break and not lose his mind, he likely had to impose certain rules on himself. And if one of those rules is not to say “I’ll be back this season,” then a professional like Tatum would definitely stick to it.
