Miami Heat Could Benefit From NBA New Tanking and Lottery Rule Changes
Tobin reacts to report from Shams about the NBA changing the tanking rules. Play-in teams could be entering the lottery. Are all these ideas necessary or can they just make this simpler and punish heinous tankers directly. Plus give the Heat back their pick?

I like the new rules to be honest. I think the top 4 pick thing is really aimed at making more balanced teams. Yeah it sucks for teams that are top heavy and they lose a star. Like Bron and the Cavs and the Pacers losing Hali and being buns this year. But I think now teams are going to aim for balance over anything.
To be honest Im fine with this. Every team even the teams that believe they have no chance of even making a play in should compete every game
We now have a chance while staying mediocre in the coming years 🔥
We deserve the 1st pick after getting screwed with Terryble Rozier.
The penalty for sitting a player who normally would play should be the loss of lottery odds. Take away what they're trying to steal.
To stop the tanking you have select the lottery order a week before the trade deadline.
The Jazz would have zero incentives to bench their staring line up against the heat and if you really want to stop it you do it early January.
Team would have no incentive to tank after.
Sorry tobes but it doesn't matter what rules the NBA puts in to stop tanking, because at the end of the day this team will always be the kings of mediocre. And this team had their opportunities to tank after trading Jimmy, but chose not to do it out of stubbornness. 💯😆
“Give them Miami Heat back their pick” 😤‼️
I’m fine with it the way it is right now. What the hell do i care if teams that know that they suck wanna play the long game?
I’m bearing witness to what it looks like when a bad team doesn’t know it sucks and tries really hard to win. It’s been the worst time I’ve had as a fan. I’m rooting for the Heat to lose games to help us in the future any damn way.
Ira’s idea is actually worst of all. There have been games where the Heat look like they’re tanking but they’re definitely not. Last thing i want is the NBA having to make judgment calls on something like that.
I don't understand why they have to complicate things. Do you want to stop the tanking? Award the lottery picks to teams based on BEST record of the bunch, down to the worst. This will make even the worst team in the league play out the schedule because the more they win, the higher the pick. There are other variations that can be done based on this premise. Such as grouping the lottery teams into sub-groups, and having a drawing like the regular lottery. Example: The top 4 lottery teams with the best record draw for the first pick and so on. As one team is awarded, the next team is added to the 3 teams left over, and then another drawing. And so on…
Maybe if we ask Silver nicely, he will gift the pick back
Yes it will Adam gonna give the Miami Heat the top draft picks either this year or in 2 Year …why he has said much over the Rozier Mess
We came close last year we had Cooper…yet the NBA gonna hand us out pick thru the draft
youre wrong, again
