Bennedict Mathurin Ushering In NEW Era For Los Angeles Clippers
he 2026 trade deadline may have quietly reshaped the Western Conference — and possibly saved the Kawhi Leonard era in Los Angeles.
By moving off the ball-dominant, veteran-heavy James Harden approach, the Clippers have pivoted toward speed, athleticism, and rim pressure. Their 115–114 win over the Denver Nuggets wasn’t just a one-point thriller — it was proof of concept.
Here’s what changed:
The Youth Infusion Around Kawhi
Bennedict Mathurin erupted for 38 points off the bench, going 12-of-13 from the line. He gives LA something they lacked for years: downhill pressure when the half-court stalls.
Add in:
Derrick Jones Jr. – 22 points, elite baseline cutting, transition chaos
Yanic Konan Niederhauser – Mobile rim protector (+7 in 13 minutes)
Jordan Miller – 4 assists, high-IQ connector minutes
This team can now outrun contenders instead of grinding every possession.
🏗 The Frontcourt Reset
Brook Lopez has quietly re-established himself as the perfect spacer-and-eraser next to Kawhi. With athletic depth behind him:
Lopez – Stretch 5 + drop coverage anchor
Niederhauser – Vertical pop + rim protection
Isaiah Jackson – Energy rim runner
The Clippers finally balance spacing with speed.
📈 Why This Matters
Versatility: Play slow through Kawhi or speed up with Mathurin.
Reduced Kawhi Burden: Less defensive wear-and-tear.
Momentum: 6–4 in last 10, climbing into serious Play-In contention at 27–28.
This isn’t the Harden-era Clippers. This is a team built for pace, length, and flexibility.
If Mathurin sustains this level, LA isn’t just competitive — they’re dangerous.

happy birthday to father
I disagree him being 3rd or 4th option. Benedict Mathurin has a high ceiling to be a first or second option in todays league. Today league MVP player are great scorer but average defense. SGA or Luka are great scorer but their defense is nothing home to write about.
Ben Mathurin is closer to Antman before Antman settle for the 3s
What? Kawhi is the 1 option, Darius is 2nd and Bennetth is 3rd option.
“Addition by subtraction”, I love that phrase and I’m glad to see Mathurin shine; hope he can do that again tonight against LukA
