Close to winning but lose… almost like Flagg doesn’t make much of a difference
This is why i don't think the Mavs should be compared to the tanking teams. They haven't done anything that compares to the disgraceful things those teams have done. Just go watch what Utah, Indiana and Washington did tonight.
Marvin bagley been playing well from his debut game. I think Tyus playing well tonight is a fluke, when he stops hitting his shots again he’ll go back to being useless.

Besides not good roster construction, Kidd undoubtedly gives up game to maybe or maybe not develop players.
And Kidd and the coaching just can't make a identity on the offense that's reliable.
But I'll give Kidd credit he does make the team fight.
He's a leader, but not a smart Xs & Os coach, which is unfortunate

I've been thinking with the Mavericks two 1st round picks is to just use those two picks on guards and in the 2nd round on a wing, preferably a powerfoward.
Fyi, I'd package the Okc pick and Gafford to try and move up a little in the draft
Mikel Brown or Acuff if Mavs stay at 7?
People needs to understand a top 3 or 4 player can and often is the difference between a star and a starter. Mavs could possibly get 3rd in the lotto rank but 4 thru 8 is more likely. One win could mean the difference of getting that 4th pick.
Why is gaff playing and why is Middleton not bought out??? Is that old back up free agent part of our future. No.
You could make a case for the center being a wanted back up. But is he worth possibly helping them win up to 3 games and then we have 8th spot.

Powell starting should be considered very important to the future of the franchise. As he’s not going to be instrumental in winning any games.

Luka needed to be traded, for the betterment of himself and the mavericks. Though, the mavericks should have gotten back way more but overall Luka needed a change of scenery and Mavs needed a change of pace.

Mavs will fall between 7-10 no matter what. They aren't as bad as the Kings, Wizards, Jazz, Pacers, Brooklyn and NO. I would like to see a few good wins to at least build some confidence

Luka is now 16-3 in clutch games and 24-0 when leading at halftime. That is what is to blame.
I am tired of people rationalizing and saying Luka was not that good in Dallas. Here is the reality. Dallas was 16-2 in games before the Luka trade. Luka did that for your team. You had just gotten to the FINALS. Luka just had a historic playoff for Dallas. The Mavericks are in no way, shape, or form better off without Luka. Flagg is NOWHERE near as good as Luka. Dallas will not make the finals for another decade either. I don't give a damn how much potential a draft has. Zion had just as much hype as anyone coming out of college, and where is New Orleans? Perennial losers with a lot of good individual players. Just because a draft is deep, that doesn't mean it will pan out.
I know it's better for us to lose right now so the losses don't upset me, but I'm still always rooting for them to win! I'm proud of the fight our guys show every game.
Something I dont hear anyone talking about but is super concerning. What is going on with PJ? Dude is getting smoked on defense, his 3 is still awful, he's smoking layups and floaters. I love the dudes attitude but man he's been awful

IMO by far our best PG is Nemby. I’ll take him over Brandon Williams (who is more of a small SG) and Tyus Jones.
If we are in the top 4 I’ll keep Nemby and take one of the 4 top prospects.
If we end up where we are Nemby is not going to be on the level of Flemmings, Acuff and Mikel Brown, but I wouldn’t oppose taking Wagler or Nate Ament where we are and having Nemby as our lead PG next year

In many ways this is a MONEY DRIVEN TEAM. Winning is secondary.
But for 3 1/2 quarters they are playing for their nba lives. Those misses late ⏰ are less significant to the players without deals for next year. They just have to play well for MOST OF THE GAME. Finishing isn’t required for an nba contract.

What if the Mavs miss on Acuff, Brown, and Flemmings, Wagler… However they get Ament, and figure out how to trade up for Anderson in the back of the 1st…. I actually think that could be better. 6'10 shoots over anyone 19 averaging 18 in a difficult SEC, Rick Barnes comparing him to KD, who he.coached…. I mean I wouldn't be mad at that, Anderson gives us young high upside guard that has change.of pace and passing ability… I am even of the mindset, take Ament anyone and let Cooper and Kyrie be the back court… Why not… You can't teach 6'10
With all the tanking discourse, Adum Silver should send a message by giving the Mavs a Top 3 pick NOW and tell the league "THIS is how you TANK, Utah"

If Dallas shot 50 threes we’d lose by 50 points. Klay is toast. Middleton is toast.
We have a team full of quasi-average nba players now with 20-30 win talent.
Like if everyone on your team was Tim Hardaway. The quintessential AVERAGE NBA PLAYER. Even when they have a good game it’s in a loss.
Fans want wins but just as importantly they want hustle, skill, youthful exuberance and super clutch play and there’s like five guys in the league who meet that criteria.

It’s the guy that wins the game with a steal, a clutch shot then a block.
