Cleveland Cavaliers Head Coach Kenny Atkinson spoke with the media following a 113-121 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on February 22, 2026 at Paycom Center.
Do not understand how the Cavs can come out so flat and uninspired when they are playing the best team in the League. You have to wonder about leadership either coaching or players.
i am so sick of this "tough schedule" excuse crap…these athletes are in their 20s …If you can't play hard for a lousy 20 minutes then go play checkers somewhere….its not like they are running marathons
We need to get our subs & rotations more consistent, we gotta get more minutes for Tyson he gets pulled after literally 2 minutes in 4th for Tomlin?.. not sure what we expected with that decision.
i agree 110%% it was the dang turnovers. 3 less turnovers for the cavs wouldve erased 6 transition points they got. then if mitchell makes even one or two of his threes today then we win or its much closer
Worse coached game of the yr,team is never prepared to play big games,and the adjustments on the three point line is horrendous,atkinson is not a championship coach
More lottery talent on the Cavs than on that thunder roster lol, these excuses are sad. Bad time of start, turnovers even though Cavs caught up etc etc. you played the thunder bench players and lost
Kenny needs to figure his rotation another thing isย whenever the cavs play a top team on national TV they alway get embarrassed … evan mobley looks loss out there and mitchell fails to feed the hot hand (Merrill), he rather lose than see somebody else be the high scorer!!
After watching James Harden for years and especially with the clippers I think they cannot win the championship And the reason behind it is that they cannot play small or against small (fast pace) teams with James Harden cause his system is slow and he is agaist these teams a liability on defence. (Please count the blow bys)
Im not saying they should not play him Against the Nuggets he was perfect cause they are a slow team too In my opinion they should have 2 gears 1 . The James Hardens "System" That deppends heavily on the pick and rollsb and 3pt shooters with Mobely and Allen 2 . Fast passed unit depending mainlt on Mithcell Shcroder and the young aggressive guys

Turnovers killed us and Mobley looked soft. Just need some fine tuning especially against the best teams. Weโll be back, go Cavs!

The lack of rebounding is embarrassing. Koby is allergic to adding big / tough players to this team.
