The New Look Bucks Are MUCH Better Than People Thought…

Heading into the 2026 trade deadline, most NBA fans thought the Bucks were going to tear it down. But as 3PM on deadline day passed, the face of the franchise Giannis Antetokounmpo remained on the team. Maybe it was all a narrative pushed by Shams Charania, and they never really planned on moving him. So many would say it was a disappointing or boring deadline for Milwaukee. But actually it seems to have pushed them into a positive direction. You can feel the vibe has shifted. Since injecting Ousmane Dieng and Cam Thomas into the lineup two games ago, the Bucks are 2-0 with upset wins against the Magic and Thunder. Cam has brought the same dynamic scoring punch that he showcased in Brooklyn, and is actually smiling now which is a big change from his time as a Net. In their win against the Magic he finished with 34 points on 60% shooting from the field, doing so in just 25 minutes. He joined Giannis as the only players in franchise history to score that many points in 25 minutes or less. Both he and Dieng finished as a +15 or better in their game against the Thunder. Speaking of Dieng, over those two games he is averaging 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists while shooting 59% from the field and 57% from three. He’s looked like a dynamic do-it-all wing, and he showed it off against his former team. Despite being a lottery pick for OKC, he didn’t really get too much of an opportunity on the floor, he’s being offered that in Milwaukee and making the most of it. These two additions have been an extremely fun injection for the team and they look more together and competitive. And these are guys that their old teams essentially threw out like trash. The new look Bucks are MUCH better than people thought.
