Yo I had this same thing happen to me in high school. I made varsity my freshmen year and there was a popping a addida circuit team that wanted me to play during aau season. My varsity coach despised the program and got upset that i started to play for them. I would make some mistakes in practice and that mixed with him not liking me going to play for that aau team was disaster. It felt like when I did mess up it was more fuel to go blame on the aau team and not play me just cus of his personal feelings. This kept happening and I evantually stopped playing after sophomore year. I still play now tho in pick up but man coaches be weird
Hate coaches like this, I get it but 1. Itβs the offseason and 2. These mfs are trying to get scholarships and improve their future. If they didnβt need travel ball and camps for that, they wouldnβt do it
Ive seen High School coaches who have talented rosters but only push the same few players. The kids either transfer school to get play time, hopfully or sit in the cut in hopes the get PT. They play AAU for the oportunity to get better and hopefully option from possible scouts. Plus it's a coaches job to prepare the players for changes, when they leave High school to play college ball its going to change.Coaches with this mind set are week coaches in my eyes.
Itβs a shame u need travel ball at all to get recruited. With hudl/ability to view games remotely, it shouldnβt be necessary. Football doesnβt have aau.
Itβs somewhat ruined basketball in my opinion. Donβt try to tell me the quality of BASKETBALL is better at an aau tournament than a high school state playoff tournament. The players might be more athletic, but it isnβt better basketball

that stuff happens, itβs a team effort and some guys who arenβt committed to the team are better off somewhere else, no joke.
Itβs crazy how accurate all his scenarios are. Do you coach a high school team?
Scored 40 on a nationally ranked team then came back and my high school coach had me 12th man on the bench felt this video to my core
Where did you get the morningside jersey from? My parents went there so thatβs why Iβm asking.
