HAWKS POSTCAST: Atlanta Hawks Ride Jonathan Kuminga Wave In Season Debut
The long-anticipated debut of Jonathan Kuminga as an active participant was on full display on Tuesday evening at State Farm Arena, making the most of his minutes and opportunity after ATL jumped out to a 7-0 run after capitalizing off of 5 consecutive turnovers to open the contest.
Despite Jalen Johnson’s early exit after only seeing 6 minutes of action and an underwhelming performance from Onyeka Okongwu and Jock Landale, Atlanta yet still managed to outrebound Washington by 20 (19-2 offensive) and outscore the Wiz 58-44 in the paint. The Hawks’ bench mob also chipped in 74 points behind Kuminga’s 27 and Corey Kispert & Gabe Vincent’s 23 combined.

Yeah….. I just subscribed!!! Anyone updates on the second best player on my Warriors I’m N ! Oh….. He’s on the Hawks now ! LOL! THANK Steve Kerr for trading one of favorite players to watch somewhere that he can become an All Star!
Bro doesn't say Kuminga's name till 17:00.
🤣🤣🤣
Warriors fan – here to see JK finally get to stretch his wings – LFG Hawks!
WARRIORS FAN HERE FOR KUMINGA!! IM ON THE HAWKS BANDWAGON NOW!! GLAD HES GETTING TO SPREAD HIS WINGS!! He’s been this guy!! Let’s go
Long time Warriors fan, enjoying watching Kuminga FINALLY getting the chance to play. He has been in Steve Kerr's torture chamber for 4 1/2 years – collecting slivers down at the end of the bench. Totally unfair for a gifted player like Kuminga, he will be a fan favorite in Atlanta. I just hate to think what the Warriors lost because Steve Kerr is locked into yesteryear. Living the good old days. When you get a gifted young player like Kuminga you have to learn how to incorporate him into your system, but Kerr never even tried. And Kuminga is too nice of a young man to complain about it. The Hawks fans are in for many exciting games in the future watching a rising star.
I can't see how this guy can talk and talk and give all sorts of highlights but finally briefly mention Kuminga? He has been the talk of the League for the past year and in his first game as an Atlanta Hawk he shoots 75% from the field and scored 27 points in only 24 mintutes and pulls down 7 rebounds and dishes out 4 assists and you speak with NO EXCITEMENT – and almost skip over him completely. Seems rather odd.
As a warriors fan when he played well he reminded me of young iguodala … the sixers version
Man! Us as Hawks fans appreciate your truth about Kuminga. Idk what really happened in GS, but just been hearing Kerr was part of the problem. Just glad we have him and hopefully can help us in the future as well as the present. Go Hawks!
Edit- Talking about the love from Warriors fans.
