Paris shocked Panathinaikos by taking a deserved 99-104 road triumph. The French team made its customary fast start for an early 9-16 lead, but 8 points in 2 minutes from Kenneth Faried tied it, 29-29, after 10 minutes. Paris kept firing from deep to surge back ahead, 38-46, and a flurry of points from Nadir Hifi made it 45-58 at halftime. Home debutant Nigel Hayes-Davis scored 7 fast points to narrow the gap, but Paris continued knocking down threes to stay ahead, 70-80, through three quarters. The lead grew to 15 points early in the fourth before a late burst from Hayes-Davis set up a comeback attempt that ultimately fell short when the new signing’s attempted game-winner missed the target.
Paris was led by Hifi’s 20 points and 5 assists, while Jeremy Morgan and Lamar Stevens both scored 14. Justin Robinson added 13 points and 7 assists, and Leo Cavaliere recorded 10 points without a miss for the visiting team, which equaled its season-high by making 17 three-pointers. Hayes-Davis delivered a remarkable debut with a game-high 27 points, including 13 in the final period. He was supported by 17 points from Faried, 14 points and 8 assists from TJ Shorts, and 12 points from Cedi Osman. Panathinaikos drops to 16-13 after its seventh loss in 11 games, while Paris improves to 10-18.
