Jonathan Kuminga is Shining Early While Golden State Warriors Trade Regret Sinks In, w/Armando Lara
Every Friday Sprewell Was Right host and UC Berkeley professor Armando Lara joins Cyrus Saatsaz for Happy Hour and this week the crew recap a disastrous week for a Golden State Warriors organization who so far is looking awful following the trade that sent away a thriving Jonathan Kuminga while the team deals with underwhelming talent and aging stars not available to play plus the crew discussed Steve Kerr’s recent comments where he accused ESPN reporter Shams Charania of misreporting Kristaps Porziņģis’ condition that’s caused him to miss numerous games.

Kuminga is currently the Hawks best man defender and playmaker.
Can’t bother to watch this drivel, but fyi Kuminga was refusing to play. There was no option but to get rid of him and nobody willing to pay anything for him.
Glad for JK. He's shining and playing with joy… without the constant anxiety of being benched after making a mistake and getting DNPs as a result. Kerr has taken a beating since JKs appearance with the Hawks… and rightfully so.
Hell yea!!! Mando always with the analysis
So mad I missed the show tonight!
Cy, you have to have Armando every week! This dude is great! You’re great too! But I love his analysis
JK didn't need to score second game and still was efficient scoring while rebounding assisting and defending. I have said he gonna be superstar. Now that he's free, he needs to remember: 1. He wants to be one of the greatest ever. 2. He said, and I believe, if he plays with full force and confidence, nobody can stop him.
Steph is still why I have League Pass😂😂😂.
Cyrus – I genuinely appreciate your content. Old enough to explain to kids in their 20’s & 30’s, that I describe myself as lifelong, suffering, emphasis on suffering, GSW fan from the franchise dark days of the ‘80s & ‘90s. They cannot relate to our shared experience. Huge fan of the pod. 56 yo born and raised hooper fan from Berkeley. 420 friendly lifer that has spent a lot of time in Humboldt. Respect brother. With al due respect though, this was a terrible episode.I love that you hold Kerr and the front office accountable, but you’re taking your disdain, which I’m assuming may be a direct result from a past experience with him, or the front office to another level. This came off as hit piece, which seems to be happening with more regularity on your show. Steve Kerr is a HOFer. Joe Lacob is a hoop fans wet dream of an owner, that will also be celebrated in the way that that felonious, Eddie D, whom btw I adore, as in adoration. Lacob has a seat at the big boy’s table. So does Kerr. I believe that you are a stand up dude, that I would love to share a pint/blunt with someday. I get the contrarian angle in sports talk, likes, subscribes, paying the mortgage, etc, and I understand the monetized aspect of YouTube. But you’re a well respected journalist in the industry. This episode comes off as clip bait that honestly is beneath you. Just a suggestion, instead of settling old scores with fellow journalists, like TK & Damon Bruce, vertical market that bad boy with a collaborative effort pod spirted debate between well respected journalists. I’d pay to see you verbally spar with any of those journalists, even if they were paid by the organization . I understand there are politics involved, selling out, working for the man, etc, but you’re better than this episode brother. My bad for being direct, but I really do love your show. This could have been so much better homie. Armando – Love your work. Old Blue. Go Bears.
WARRIORS ARE LAUGHING STOCK OF NBA
Armando the best !!!!!
Kerr traded away Steph's 5th Championship!!!!! Sorry children…
STEVE (TDS) KERR IS DESTROYING THE WARRIORS
Did a quick KP POTS search just to see what would pop up. Superficially, I found:
– confirmation that KP was diagnosed with anemia 16 years ago. Supposedly they were able to treat it, but there are many types of anemia and some conditions that look like anemia, but they aren’t. Who knows if it’s recurring again?
– KP was diagnosed with POTS in Boston. They treated him for it and they thought they had been successful, but it looks like KP continued getting sick and “crashing”, so nobody is sure if they cured the POTS or if he was misdiagnosed
– they were calling it POTS in December 2025, just a few months ago.
– KP has also had multiple injuries since 2019 and including two separate meniscus surgeries, strains and tears of muscles and tendons in the leg.
– KP describes his symptoms from last season when he was diagnosed with POTS, but he’s not describing POTS symptoms, he’s describing post exertional malaise symptoms or PEM.
He characterized it as having trouble moving, feeling exhausted all of a sudden, then later, being unable to move after a game for a long period of time. That’s PEM.
It’s a condition where your body’s ATP is mostly spent, especially in the muscle tissue, but your cells can’t regenerate ATP quickly enough to continue to provide energy to your tissues and you have to rest until it recovers, which can take days to weeks.
I think of it like rigor mortis, which is when the human muscles freeze into place after death because ATP isn’t being generated anymore, so muscles are locked in a contracted state instead of being relaxed.
Both of those are symptoms of ME/CFS which is essentially chronic fatigue syndrome. Chronic fatigue syndrome is also loosely associated with other autoimmune conditions, as Armando said, like Lyme disease, rheumatoid arthritis, long COVID, etc.
Armando’s main point stands: this team is irrelevant, this player is damaged goods and a likely salary dump by the end of the season. It doesn’t matter what KP’s actual diagnosis is because
1) he has so many previous injuries and illness that have made him MORE susceptible to regular illnesses other people might recover from quickly that he could literally he suffering from ANYTHING on any given day
2) because all of these conditions fall into a category of diseases that are incredibly difficult to treat, it is highly likely that he has been or will be misdiagnosed multiple times before they can finally treat him predictably
3) at his size, KP was always going to suffer from the circulatory and heart issues that many big men his size seem to have trouble with, so whether or not it’s actually POTS makes no difference.
But I’m pretty angry about the lies that Kerr, Celebrini, Dunleavy, and GSW are telling the fan base about this player. To me, it’s tantamount to STEALING money from the fans via fraud. Of course they are going to be careful to word things so they didn’t technically lie to anyone and insist that their job is to “weave a narrative to sell the experience!”, but NONE of that is what Lacob or the rest of the org promised to deliver.
They promised to always strive for championships. They promised to do everything to help Steph win a 5th ring. And all of their decisions for this last year show that they lied, they knew they were lying, and they doubled down on the lie, imo.
This org is not who they are pretending to be and I can’t unsee all the ugly, unprofessional, entitled behavior they have exhibited in recent years.
I could believe that Joe Lacob’s only mistake was to trust Steve Kerr when Kerr told him he could coach two timelines. But not if he supports Kerr or Dunleavy in any way.
And this will taint Steph’s legacy, in my opinion. The stink is too deep and nobody is moving quickly enough to clean it off.
Hey Lacob!!!! Are you proud allowing Steve (TDS) KERR TRADE AWAY STEPH Curry's 5th championship
Atlanta was happy to get rid of Porzingus!!!!!
STEVE KERR SAID, THE WARRIORS WOULD WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP WITH PORZINGUS
Go Armando!!!!
Laughing Stock of the NBA
The wRroors just made a lot of Hawks Fans!!!
Lazy content good for kuminga you scored on the wizards im happy for him
Anyway,bye
If I had to choose between JK and Santos I’d take Santos
Saying Kerr is paid to be on the radio is low.you are obsessed
The wRroors just made a lot of Hawks Fans!!!JK is hoing to the ESte
Instead of doing a moody,Richard or santos deep dive let’s talk about the guy that plays for someone else 😂
Cy,bro what’s up man are you ok? have you ever seen The Simpsons episode where Homer can’t stop thinking about Moe?
Because of the flaming Homer ?
Can't wait to see JK play against the Warriors. I remember Jordan Poole outscoring Curry when he returned to play against the Warriors the first time.
Remember, Kuminga also scored well against the Timberwolves in the playoffs. He was the Warriors MVP in that series.
Too bad we have to watch the Hawks highlights to see Kuminga kicking ass🙄
20:50 the best move in the wiseman draft, would have been to trade our 2nd pick to the Knicks for their 8th and 23rd pick, converting those into Tyrese Haliburton and Jaden McDaniels. I still think Kuminga was a good pick the next year at 7, Wagner isn't bad either, but I think Kuminga does have more upside. Finally you have Moody at 14, which I think is a decent pick. We could have kept Wiggins, and had Haliburton at the 1, Steph at the 2, Wiggins at the 3, Kuminga at the 4, and either Draymond or Post (at this point) at the 5. You'd have McDaniels, Moody, Podz all coming off the bench, and if you could have had Melton still, that would be a really solid, deep team, even if you didn't play Kuminga, and instead traded him for a big center, that would be fine too, but yes Wiseman was a bit too raw and didn't have a feel/touch for the game, as well as lacking that competitive drive that is obviously something Kuminga has.
Hope JK do good in warriors hawks matchup- dubz will blow them out tho..
Less addressing scrub haters in the chat and let Armando speak mo.
We dont want to listen to you spend the whole show addressing hater scrubs.
Surround Curry with nba size young hungry players like Leons. Drop half the small guards on the team, trade podz for a 2nd round draft pick. Get a team full of forwards and this team will have a better chance next year.
Sign Kenny Lofton Jr for the playoffs
Come on man- Kerr sucks and KP for JK is a poor trade but continually making fun of KP’s name with that clip is childish asinine! That’s like some kid trying to bully another kid by making fun of his name. KP has never done anything to you! He’s just a byproduct of the trade! Make your analysis but be mature and professional!!!!
