Unfortunately for the Sixers, they will now be without Joel Embiid again for at least the next 3 games due to a new injury. So does this change your perspective on their chances? Whether it does or doesn’t, one thing is for sure: their trade deadline decision continues to haunt them. Jared McCain is lighting it up for the Thunder and proving how bad the Sixers mistake was. But there is one final chance to fix it. The Sixers need to go make a push for signing Cole Anthony, who was waived by the Suns. Should they make this move? Can they actually get it done? So I'm one of those who was pro-the-trade, anti-the timing and I'm still on that side. I think McCain fits OKC well, they have guys who can screen, off-ball movement, etc that fits McCain but his role is pretty much the same as Isaiah Joe's there(and honestly, I like Joe better than McCain. Taller, longer, etc.)
McCain's problem here, was that he's not a PG and he's never gonna be a PG. Lacks the instincts to pass the ball in said movement offense. So that's the other thing, he's only gonna thrive as the shooter in the movement offense. He's not gonna be someone who can make plays out of it.
That's kind of OK for them as well, because SGA is the de-facto point guard) and with someone like Jalen Williams, they don't need McCain to do those things. So even when McCain has a 20-piece, or a 13-piece. He's still the same prospect: A JJ Barea archetype that just wasn't going to fit here, and honestly over the long run of his career is going to be mostly forgettable.
Man, it's going to be tough to make playoffs without Joel. VJ needs to average at least 20 points for us to have a chance. Believe that!
I think the way he looked at Kansas vs. how he looked in his first full season as a Sixer his body completely changed and I don’t think it was ready for the pounding it was going to take. Yes major injuries and surgeries are rough, but blowing a kiss knowing your hurt again🤬🤬🤬🤬 When McCain got traded I just knew we were making a huge move the following day and then the deadline hit and nothing. The Sixers threw away the season because of that trade end of story

Morey has to go, the experiment is over, it failed. I'm grateful he got us out of some extremely horrible contracts when he first got here but this McCain move with nothing to show for it was the last draw. ALSO, we need new scouts! Are drafting is all over the place but the broome pick was a disgrace. Oddly enough we have made some really good picks but when we do we always trade them before they even get a chance. We draft Mikel bridges and give him away for springer on draft night lol. We draft players when the very next draft pick ends up becoming elite players. Nick nurse should also be sent packing. I don't know what happened to this man. In Toronto he was brilliant, he gets here and lost all basketball knowledge. Maxey and VJ are exciting, but is maxey another absolute stud that will get robbed of a ring. Allen Iverson, and Embiid are two players that have absolutely carried this team only to never get rewarded. Embiid gets a TON of Sh** but this guy has been more then loyal and patient. He deserves a ring and will never get one. This owner is 100% OK with being middle of the pack.

Ownership doesn't seem overly concerned with building a winning team – just keeping a not losing team.
I was VERY UPSET when Joel played in The Olympics (injured) after New York eliminated us in the first round year before last. That's where he really ruined everything. I have since forgiven him and hope that he'll heal enough for a good playoff run…

– The only thing Sixers could do is waive Lowry near the end of the season to sign 1 of the 2ways or best playoff eligible available player
– Assuming the Sixers waive Lowry Sixers can't sign a new player until like the last week of the regular season at some point I'm order to stay under the luxury tax
– Sixers can actually waive Lowry or even Cam Payne in order to sign 1 new player at the end of the season.
– Since Lowry is Nurse's STEP-SON LOL, then Sixers could waive Payne instead of Lowry but only if Tyrese Martin outplays Payne as a backup Point Guard
– Sixers don't seem to want to waive Lowry but I would waive Lowry near the end of the season & Lowry can help Nurse coach on the playoffs like the same darn roll he has now as I never want to see Lowry play for the sixers again
– hell if they really wanted to they could waive both Lowry & Payne near the end of the season to sign 2 New players for the playoffs if you want to get crazy honest
– but Payne is important for his playoff backup point guard experience
– but sixers have to wait until almost the last day of the season to sign new players to stay under the tax.
– they tried so hard to stay under the tax this year so they will still try to duck the tax this year no matter what
