The Sixers lose to the Celtics 114-98. Three game win streak snapped as Joel Embiid did not play tonight after being ruled out for at least three games with an oblique strain. Tyrese Maxey dropped 33 points and VJ Edgecombe posted 23 points but the two of them could not carry the team to victory at the end. The Celtics outrebounded the Sixers 59 to 37 while beating them 30 to 10 in second chance points. They simply outrebounded, outhustled, and outplayed the Sixers. Andre Drummond got cooked by Neemias Queta, who had 27 points and 17 rebounds. The Sixers have two main issues that have not been corrected all season, and they once again showed up tonight. Embiid is always hurt it’s so annoying
It's been the same issues all year, they expected Barlow to suddenly fix their rebounding issue because he's a good rebounder but they need more than just him to rebound well. Trading "he who shall not be named," was horrendous on all fronts, but we were never gonna get him to what he is now on his new team because of the constant isolation ball and the lack of motion going on in the offense. Not giving up yet, but these aren't issues we can really fix overnight
