Deepest team in the league. Spurs have 5 or 6 players that can give you 25 on any given night if needed and have proven so. If one player is shooting poorly, another pops out to pick up the slack. Vassell, Champegnie, Keldon, Castle, Wemby, and Fox have all scored 25 or more and we still got Harper in the pocket as well. Plus Harrison Barnes shooting from the corner and Luke Kornet aint no slouch either. We got a unit

Wemby might be a bit inconsistent on offense, but he is consistent on defense, there's a separate award for offense, MVP is both offense, defense and aura
Cade got flustered by Castle and levelled him. He went 1 for 15 in the second half.

Pistons got away with a lot of fouls the referees missed. I'm surprised no one got hurt last night. Pistons were / are following through with blocks, taking players out

Wembanyama is the most difficult person to referee since Shaquille O'Neal… the amount of holding, grabbing, and pushing contact that is not called as fouls is extremely high against him
Wembanyama, I believe at times is trying to oversell this contact by falling to the floor, but it must be difficult and frustrating to be fouled constantly (probably more than any current NBA player) and not receive the calls
I would not like to be a referee in any San Antonio games, as if you call every foul against him he will be at the line 20+ times a game and every centre/power forward on the opposition will be in foul trouble every game, making the games slow and lob sided
I think the NBA officals needs to focus more on making the right calls for the obvious and deliberate contact more so than the incidental ones

His stats DO show up elsewhere!! His Per 36 is BETTER than Jokic's, both in Points and Rebounds. And even in less minutes per game, Wemby's defense is DPOY. If he played the same minutes as SGA or Jokic, his stats on both ends would be a CLEAR #1.

calling the Pistons’ style of play “physical” is disingenuous. Wemby was positively assaulted by the Pistons. No other top 10 player would ever have to face that level of thuggery.

Spurs are a bad matchup for Detroit. Nuggets and OKC will be much harder for them.
There aren't 5 better players on top of Wemby rn. For someone that values defense a lot like me, he's the MVP. For the value Jokic provides offensively, Wemby provides it defensively. And Wemby's offense is better than Jokic defense.

Wemby change the game because he force ppl to talk about DEFENSE which is HALF of the court for a team how much he has influence on that is what set him appart he could have a 1 point game on 20-30min from a random FT and still be on 20+/- by everything else

Wemby is averaging 24 PPG on 30 minutes. Every other MVP candidate is playing 5+ more minutes per game but only has 2-5 more PPG! If Wemby played 2 more minutes per game he would easily have a 27-28-29 PPG average. Cause he would get fouled in that time, he would get a lob or dunk in that time that's almost 5 more 24 sec possession to be played. He would also likely have 1-3 more rebounds both offensive and defensive.
Additionally, the Spurs prioritize TEAM ball and passing so it's very hard for a Spurs star to put up League MVP scoring numbers in our system, but Wemby is. He is literally one bucket and fouls shots from averaging 28-29 PPG!
