EXECUTION: Orlando Magic Exposed by Detroit Pistons—Why Paolo Banchero Must DELIVER
The Detroit Pistons showed the Orlando Magic why they are a contending team and why the Orladno Magic are struggling to reach that level. The Pistons displayed poise and composure to dismantle the Magic in the second half.
Orlando failed to execute, making repeated mistakes that allowed things to snowball and for Detroit to run away with the victory. That led to another second-half collapse and another big run that kept the Magic from competing.
Once again, Paolo Banchero was left alone to try to create and the Magic did not have many ideas to get him easy shots or get the team into rhythm. And then turnovers and compounding mistakes once again to keep the Magic from a breakthrough victory.

I think there are two fundamental issues this season (besides injuries). First the coaching staff failed to adjust to win-now mode by designing an free flowing offense which is what the championship contenders run but not having the playmaking and offensive power to execute. Developing a flawed team into your vision is resulting in a 50-50 team. Win-now means you adjust your playstyle into what suits your team today. Second FO clearly said their believe is a championship contender needs 5-6 top players for the playoffs which I agree with. BUT that means you need cheap players on the bench who can give you enough during regular season to not run your top six into the ground and secure OK playoff positioning. Imho this is done by having good connections within the league to convince solid veterans to come in on short contracts. FO and stars like P5, Des or Franz clearly do not have that standing in the league yet. If you instead fill your bench with two rookies, a bust (Jett), a second year player (TDS) and someone on a rich contract you are playing minimal minutes (JI) while bringing back someone from an ACL what result do you expect??
Pistons go 4 for 30 from 3…..and we LOSE???????? Banchero 9 TO'S??????????????? WTF…and Suggs…couldn't throw a fish in the ocean!!!!!!
Pistons fan here. It’s not just Ku rooting for you all
FIRE WELTMAN
FIRE MOSLEY
Detroit made their mid range shots..
P5 had a good game but he needs to shoot the ball more down low.. we lose making ugly passing.. a lot of times at least about 7mins in every game we look bad on passing the ball..
Meanwhile Mac McClung is average 28.9 ppg in the G league and so how for the Magic Jase Richardson is better than him 🤔
Please stop making so many bad passing.. each players should go look at their bad passing films…
We lose and get frustrated on execution with some of the dummies passing… all it is just bad passing…
This season is a wash because the team plays random basketball. There is never a plan on offense
Paolo catching slack for turnovers but news flash he’s not a gaurd he 6”10 260 shouldn’t dribbling 30 feet away
Paolo described it perfectly. One team made adjustments and won, the other didn't and lost. As always, our coach can't read games, anyone that knows the shape of a basketball can tell that. The real question is, what is Weltman waiting for?? Join him on the way out???
Mos needs to call time outs when they START making the no pass, one touch, forced shots and lose four points off a lead instead of “letting them play through” and calling the time out after the lead is already blown or almost blown. They respond to mistakes by making new mistakes. Maturity is this team’s kryptonite and Mos needs to learn who is team is instead of trying to wish them into a better team a shorten the leash.
Paolo isn't in a place to be the star player huh? Why? Because he calls out your pal's lack of adjustments?? Is Mosley your cousin or what?? Get him a real coach and then we'll talk about what he can or cannot do. Paolo is the one that carries the whole team on his back every time in the playoffs, but you won't win anything with coach and a front office making your life harder. Consistently one of the worst set offences, constantly one of the worst 3pt shooting %, and you want him to be superman. Criticize your friends next time…
I JUST CRINGE EVERY TIME I SEE BANCHERO COMING UP THE FLOOR WITH THE BALL BECAUSE IT'S SO PREDICTABLE AS FAR AS WHAT THE OFFENSE WILL LOOK LIKE. THE OFFENSE CONSTRUCTION NEEDS TO CHANGE OTHERWISE THIS FACTOR ALONE WILL HOLD THE MAGIC BACK FROM ACHIEVING ANY SORT OF GREATNESS!
Same shit different game. P5 calling out lack of adjustments while turning it over 9 times is concerning
Not sure we’re watching the same games. We’re maybe okay and playing 20-25 mins of decent basketball, not even good, per game. Our main issue has been we’re not good
As far as personnel there’s nothing about the current roster that we didn’t already know 2 years ago. Weltman has been dreadfully slow at addressing the clear and evident issues on this team and seems content to punt to next year over and over and over. That JI is still on this roster is fucking criminal
Yeah and guess who’s been asking for a true PG to be taking the ball handling pressure off for what 4 years now? That’s right, the guy with 9 TO’s and terrible body language
Pistons fan here. Every game I've watched with you guys it has seemed that you guys would be better without Paolo.
Exposed by Detroit? Philip, we’ve been exposed all year..
Not long ago Detroit was at the bottom of the NBA and Orlando was an up and coming promising team. Now Detroit is at the top of the east. And what exactly is Orlando?
Yes our best player, as you shills reiterated ad nauseam. 9 turnovers and you still defend him like you are getting paid to. Pathetic, you and SixthMan show need to come out and reveal why you can never ask any hardball questions as a “journalist”.
I couldn't how many times you called Paolo "our best player". Until people realize he's our best iso scorer not our best player things may start to change. People expect him to be something he's not. Maybe we'll start bringing in players that compliment Paolo we'll get better
We can't change coaches cause the gm might not b here next yr the new gm would want to pick his own coach
I might b wrong but didn't he call a timeout then called a play for Jett to shoot a 3….that's just stupid
