Why Everyone Hates OKC Right Now

Why Everyone Hates OKC Right Now

The Oklahoma City Thunder transformed from lovable underdogs into the NBA’s biggest villains. All thanks to a frustrating mix of controversial playstyles and historic dominance. Here are the reasons fans are turning on OKC, from Lu Dort’s dangerous fouls and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s free-throw parades to their arrogant Gen Z antics and front-office hypocrisy.

  2. I appreciate you presenting both sides. They are DOMINANT and they are ANNOYING which = HATE lol … the foul bating is the worst and the hacking on the other end presents opposing fans with a dichotomy that creates resentment and festers to the surface when they are in big games.

  3. Lu Dort knew that Jokic's left knee was not fully healed and aimed for it, SGA defending him publicly instead of avoiding direct responce and stop him from pulling those plays off is also fostering the team's dirty plays. If that is what the MVP of the leauge endorse, then there'll probably no superstars healthly on the court ever, I don't understand how people can't see that simple consequence. Being physical and dirty is two seperate things that's not corelated, you can be a dirty player that injures others without playing physical and also a physical defender that doesn't risk injuring others at the same time.

  4. Forgot to mention how unlikable their coach is, especially after his recent comment on Dort faul on Jokic…

  5. Protecting players shall always the main point of any sport association. Once a body is broken, a career ends… But this NBA way to call foul each and every time an attacker jumps on a defender is so dumb.
Is it the same in FIBA's rules?

  6. Dont forget the nba cup where they were fouling tf out of wemby and in the end they were crying for a phantom foul on caruso

  7. In all fairness a lot of people hated them even before the last playoffs. They had a lot of scummy foul-baiting plays and calls, while caruso and dort always went on bigger players so they could literally grab them by the arms and jerseys to stop them with no whistle.

  8. We are so good people hate all the time and jokic layed on a jazz players back the game after the thu der game im tired of this shit everyone sucks jokic off because hes a decent player

  9. I've wondered why people don't actually foul SGA, since he gets the calls anyways.

Do some Dort on him, and see what happens

  10. NBA is unwatchable. I prefer German domestic womens league any time. Knowing that the individual talent is something else completely. But it’s real games and real defense and real effort every minute. And superior athmosphere! ā¤šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡¦

  11. Lol then joker plays like a mma hippo against the jazz. There is a reason joker got scuffed. Do u people watch the games?šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ nope u watch highlights

  12. excellent takes , I'm a Mavs fan and hate Thunder with all my soul. And IMHO referees should be specifically instructed to turn a blind eye on SGA's flopping. Every time he flicks his damn head there should be no foul automatically , out of principle.

  13. Not only no love for okc, but also no respect from me. I think people don't hate the dominant. It is about how they became dominant. Bulls Lakers Spurs, many people did not like them but still respected.

  14. I don't think they got the love they should have gotten for thier championship last year. But yeah, they're clear villains. Shai+Lou Dort+ taking advantage of officiating on offense and defense, they were a step ahead of the league up until very recently.

  15. Fans jealous that their GM isn't as good as Sam Presti. Chet is the only Top-9 draft pick on the current roster(#2 in 2022). 5 Lottery picks, 2 First Round picks, 5 Second Round picks, and 3 undrafted players on the roster. Every player on the roster could have been drafted by another team but they didn't and Presti did. If you don't like how NBA officiates games, then be mad at the NBA. The Thunder have learned how each ref is going to officiate a game and plays accordingly. If refs call more fouls on the Thunder, then the Thunder will have to adapt to it. If you actually look at SGA's statistics, he drives the most to the basket but isn't a top Free Throw shooter. If you want your guy to get more Free Throws, then drive more to the basket. It's not rocket science.

  16. They were disliked from the beginning bro. They were never adored but constantly criticized for being ā€œtoo friendly with one anotherā€, their post game camaraderie, SGA winning the MVP over Jokic, dominating at the average age of 24, etc etc.
I also find it that people that criticize them the most are often times the ones to goal post move just as often.
People decided to nitpick at SGA when he was favored to win MVP and coincidentally that’s when people started piling up compilations of him foul baiting and at times flopping.
They constantly ignore Jokic’s rough style of play and egregious flopping because to those same people it’s ā€œout of character for himā€ ā€œhe never gets callsā€ ā€œhe’s just not himself latelyā€.
Isiah Stewart can get off easy because he’s on the pistons and they already have a ā€œreputationā€ so it warrants that. Draymond Green can assault people and get off Scott free becasue of the warriors history of winning championships.
These are people that criticize the Thunder but completely overlook the egregiousness of others because they already are media favorites and that is the biggest issue.

  17. The thunder is like america now. They cry when they get hurt intentionally or not but when they're the one hurting the others, its ok. Its part of the game.
