Are the Cavs Detroit’s Biggest Threat in the East? + NY Keeps Rolling | ALL NBA Podcast

Adam Mares and Tim Legler break down the biggest NBA games and storylines, starting with the Cleveland Cavaliers’ huge win without Donovan Mitchell and what it revealed about Cleveland’s depth, ball movement, and offensive creation. They analyze the Cavs’ matchup advantages against the Detroit Pistons, including Jaylon Tyson’s defense on Cade Cunningham and the defensive impact of Tyson and Ellis together. The conversation also dives into Cade’s finishing at the rim, Duncan Robinson’s importance, and Ausar Thompson’s defensive presence. Later in the episode, they react to the New York Knicks beating the Toronto Raptors again, why the Raptors remind Legs of the Houston Rockets, and why the Knicks may be peaking at the right time with strong contributions from Mikal Bridges and Josh Hart. A must-watch for NBA fans tracking contenders, rising teams, and the performances shaping the playoff race.

  1. You can talk about Pistons, Cavs & Knicks all you want but the East runs through the Celtics with or without Tatum

  2. Pistons have a couple of players on the bench who could POSSIBLY help with the three point shooting but they're not even getting an opportunity to try.

  3. Tatum and brown are the best duo when healthy hands down because they are two way players. Harden and Mitchell backcourt is poor defensively

  4. Cavs made the perfect moves to beat the pistons at the trade deadline. Pistons didn’t do anything at the trade deadline to fix their issues šŸ˜’šŸ˜’šŸ˜’šŸ˜’

  5. I really hope the Pistons look to upgrade the two and the four in the offseason. We need guys that can shoot and defend

  6. Adam shouting out Jason regarding the Cavs is part of the reason he’s on this incredible trajectory. It’s not just his intellect and his verbal acumen; he’s also respectful and supportive of his team. He talks about the spiritual side of basketball and he brings that spirit to this analytical side of things as well.

  7. I think Detroit wins and figures the cavs out. They seem less dimensional without 3s, but Cade can play 5 ways. He's so capable.

  8. Cavs have veen short handed and besting the best teams in the eastern conference. Full strength they are the clear cut best team in the conference

  9. Darius Garland was a very poor playoff performer for the Cavs the last 3 years. While Harden struggles in close out games, he is far more consistent in the playoffs than Garland. Harden’s higher floor will give the Cavs some much needed stability.

  10. Legler is my favorite NBA analyst/podcaster he knows ball. He knows what he’s talking about and it’s refreshing to hear.

  11. I agree the cavs they have the top 2 to 3 but if the Boston hav the top 2 but the biggest concern is harden and Mitchell hadn't had the deep playoff run in long time I have been watching basketball since I was 7 yrs in 1998 I love the throw back down to memory lane I used to watch nba jam nba action and nba inside stuff I missed the 90s basketball bec I used to watch rerun on nba in the 1980 and 90

  12. The secondary problem is the Cavs two bigs are like 1.75 Wemby's at times. But if you do the math, the Pistons won the game after the 2 minute mark. The main problem is that the Pistons come out flat in first 2 minutes on somewhat regular basis. EDIT To be fair, the fact that they didn't mention this is kind of crap analysis. Watch the first two minutes again, the Pistons just miss easy shots for no reason early in games. They beat themselves and then won the rest of the game. That means Cavs still win, duh. But this focus on Harden (who will absolutely not be like this in playoffs) instead of the stellar play of the two bigs is crazy. Y'all be loving on Legs but this is like covering Iran and not mentioning 1953.
