If Tatum is 80% of before and can be integrated smoothly, there is one team in the east who could win the NBA finals. That is the Boston Celtics. All the other NBA finals level teams are in the west.
I think he’s going to play in the Pritchard and Vuc rotation off the bench to start. I think that’s a great fit for him because it’s shooters and he can get his shots, and usually also means White will be out there which will elevate White & it allows the Celtics to maintain the status quo. My only concern is his fit next to Queta
I think they could be wise to have him coming off the bench for 15ppg building up to 25ppg over the 15-20 games left in the season.
The Celtics are rolling without him, and yes would benefit from having him back, but too much too soon is a high risk.
As the standings are right now, they likely won’t need him in the first round (currently Orlando or Miami), allowing him to continue to increase minutes slowly as he aims to return to form.
I dont think we will see the elite 2 way until next year and thats only if hes able to get back to elite level. But i do think he can bring some shooting, and some great passing. By playoffs i think he will be able to be a in 2k terms a 85ish overall hopefully.

Coming from a Knicks fan, what an insane recovery for him and I’m happy he’s back and hope they gel together right away

I say bring him off the bench for the first 10 games back. Let him play 25 mins. Have him in that “6th starter” role until he gets his legs under him
