Relax Rich. The Knicks are still better.
Cavs won 64 games last year, ran away with the 1 seed and got packed out 2nd round. That 1 seed means nothing. Celtics are the best team in the east right now
Yessir! I know Coop put him up to this
Exactly why teams don’t tank. Team was gutted and they’re still contenders.
Sixers could have had both the Jays. Which makes it even more hilarious 😂
Go Cavs
I wanted to bet the Celtics were goin to the finals, they’re +250😢
Celtics is just a great organization their goal is just win champions and every player is expected to either lock in or they're out. This team is good enough to make it to the finals even without Tatum. JB mvp, PP if only he quality would be back to back 6th man. Don't even bring up Detroit beating them earlier in the season because this team is on another level right now.
The C’s don’t always get it right, but there’s a reason why they’re a marquis franchise. Smart players, coaches, owners and fans
Brad and Joe and Jayson and Jalyen
I'm just going to say it. I don't know how you can not be a Celtics fan, as a knowledgeable national sports personality. It is nothing but rivalry hatred and tribalism, because there is nothing to hate on this team. Everyone on the roster this year other than Brown and Vucevic (who has played about 12 games this season with the team) was a 24th pick or lower. They've made this run with late firsts (Simons, White, Pritchard, Hugo, Scheierman), seconds (Walsh, Queta, Garza, Williams, Minott) and undrafteds (Hauser, Harper). They play ethically (very little FT farming), they play fundamentally sound (fewest turnovers in the league), and they play hard every night. No scandals, no bad behavior, the trash-talking from players like Pritchard is more adorable than actually menacing. And Joe is a fascinating sociopath that is endlessly entertaining to listen to.
And it is great for the league when the Celtics, Knicks, Pistons and Sixers are all winning teams, because this represents the beating heart of the Eastern conference.
Yes sir. Here we come. Revenge for last year is on their minds dear Knick fans.
this yrs Cs epitomize the fact that THE star players on teams get way too much credit. the best path to consistent contention is with a complete org doing their jobs and doing them well. a savvy FO, a smart staff and a bought in roster will always stack wins in a league where so many players and orgs seem to concern themselves most w jersey sales. do stars raise the ceiling? very often, yes. but its everything else that raises the floor and its that high floor that has allowed the Cs to contend for the vast majority of the last decade.
Well sir let me tell you who Hugo González is, first in plus minus among rookies by a mile. Top 3 net rating only behind Wembi and SG. Please do your homework sir before making remarks.
Huge Gonzales leads the entire NBA in +/-. Surprised it wasnt mentioned when they brought him up.
These guys call themselves Big Knick fans well Hugo shut down Karl Anthony Towns in their first matchup and they won the game because of that. Be honest do you guys watch basketball Mr. Eisen?
Derrick White…BAM.
Its Pronounced "Ugo". People will know soon.
Tatum is overrated. Great individual skills but not great team skills – he makes nobody better and has NO dog in him. Trade him for some picks.
Because they're THE BOSTON CELTICS. That's why.
Nobody wants to see this? Nah, the global Celtics Nation wants to see this.
By the way, Hugo Gonzalez is only 20 years old. lol
Without Tatum and Brown Celtics STILL made the Bucks look like a G-League team 🤦🏿♂ I was SO looking forward to Giannis vs Cs for the next half decade, but GM Horst and Doc Rivers RUINED it! 🙆🏿♂☘💪🏿
Yo, SPOT ON Iso Joe Johnson on nightcap big upping ☘ coach! Joe Mazzulla, coach of the year, Best two-way player is Jaylen MVP Brown hands down!💪🏿✊🏿 🏆 GO CELTICS DEFENSE!👀 with Derrick White playing defense like young Gary Payton 👏🏿☘… if Tatum comes back, get your popcorn ready
I am a simple man. I see Rich Eisen I press play!👏🏿
Brad for president
Charlotte Hornets are about to humble them tonight! Hornets by 15 easy.
JT "one month RAMP UP" yo☘✊🏿💪🏿
Been a C's fan actively and by birth in Mass since the late 70's, pre-Bird. As a kid, I used to watch all the games with a ball in my hands and run out to shoot hoops during commercials. Fast forward to today, I realize media and just about everything is all about rage-baiting and click-baiting and views and likes and all this BS but if all the "knowledge" spewed in this modern age of "information" is coming from their actual hearts and minds, then the talking heads have got a lot to learn about sports. Not specifically pointing at this piece, because I appreciate Eisen reluctantly giving credit to the C's and New England sports in general, as he and others should. But media going off about the Celtics tanking, even a lot of younger C's fans earlier this year, just shows how far (down) the collective IQ and INTEGRITY has come. ZERO patience. Everything's a click. All f-ing checkers, no chess. Well, if they'd actually known anything about the Celtics franchise, say pre-TD Garden, and had any deeper history with them, they may have realized as I did that "tanking" is not in their DNA. Or, even easier and from modern history, if they'd known the character of Brad Stevens and Joe Mazzulla & Co, they may have realized that those guys aren't here to quit. Play hard, leave it on the floor, all for one, the rest is the rest. They should be a poster child for what professional TEAMS should be emulating — period. ☘
Joe Mazulla should win coach of the year.
Don't sleep on Hugo Gonzalez. That kid can go. He is elite on D already and always in the right place. I wouldn't be surprised if he makes an all-star team in a few years because Boston's player development team is the best in the game right now and that kid wants to be good. And he practices against Jaylen Brown and pretty soon Jayson Tatum.
"Win the east" doesn't mean the 1 seed, it means winning the eastern conference finals
The Celtics beat the bucks, by 27… without brown… this seasons success isn’t strictly on brown. Hate the Tatum slander
