Spurs are DIFFERENT than every other young NBA contender for ONE REASON
Jason explains why the San Antonio Spurs are different than other young NBA contenders and why Victor Wembanyama is at the heart of that.

Wemby's impact is self explanatory, generational and he will bring it during the playoffs. To me, on of the other biggest impact to the Spurs success is they went from not having one person who can handle the ball during Wemby's first 2 years to have 3 legitimate points this year in Fox, Castle and Harper, all 3 have unbelievable handles and can get in the lane at will and create shots for themselves and others. All 3 have an extra gear speed and athleticism wise that just can't be taught, it's truly special, and that along with Wemby being generational, is why I think they will be successful in the playoffs.
I can see the Spurs winning it all, especially if they beat OKC… BUT, if they run into The Knicks… idk
The moment wemby becomes consistent with his offense, it's OVER
They need to pass Wemby the ball when he is alone under the rim.
Just remember that Wemby, Castle and Harper/Bryant are just 22, 21 & 20. Now imagine all 4 of those next season or the next one. This is the worst that team will ever look.
Do you know what’s the scary part? It doesn’t even matter. it’s a win/win no matter how you put it. Either the Spurs win everything or you have an extremely young team that has so many veteran qualities about them getting so much experience heading into the off-season. Mind you probably with a top 14 pick in the Atlanta Hawks in a deep draft. It doesn’t matter if the Spurs win this year or not… they’re inevitable
Spurs have always been different. I feel like we're back in 2016 man. They are getting nasty
If Denver coach last postseason wasn’t such a dork Denver should have won
I genuinely don’t get why people bring up the current roster’s inexperience. We have enough to guide the young studs and also as an organisation SAS has more experience than any other team. We still have the presence of previous legends around the team.
Spurs are crazy man
I am tired of hearing that the Spurs do not have playoff experience. They are putting in work, like Vasell said in a previous post game interview. The work in the practice facility is showing on the court. The playoffs are not ready for the San Antonio Spurs. I dont see anyone beating these confident young men in a 7 game series. GO SPURS GO!!!!!!!
These people flip flop. Next spurs loss- spurs aren’t ready yet.
Lose in the 2nd Rd…by who? 🤔
Spurs road to the finals will boil down with their playoff matchups, they match well against OKC and some way vs Nuggets, but had difficulties with Suns, GSW, and Wolves. BUT I will bank on WEMBY – he is just different, the kid's got Mamba mentality + Tim's EQ and is a competitor, they will be a surprise. Let the league/media and all others doubt and sleep on them..
Uh..huh! Yeah, okay. You seem like you know Basketball!
I don't and that's why my spurs are gonna kick you square in the nuts.
As a Spurs fan, here are my worries for the post-season: 1. How do they adjust to tighter officiating games (when Wemby gets his 3rd foul in the early 2nd Quarter) or games where they let the teams mug each other; 2. How does a young coach like Johnson manager rotations and timeouts; 3. How does Wemby’s body respond to the demand of 35+ minutes every game?; and 4. Who is the closer in a tight game? Fox needs to really show up in these moments.
There are a lot of intangible things that could go sideways and spoil a Finals run this year, but I’m excited to see what happens! GSG
Good job on covering your bases if the Spurs win it all, even though you have not thought of them as a legit contender the last few weeks 👍
The big question mark: what is Wemby's physical condition? Reaching the finals means playing a lot of high-intensity matches. and the coach is young, never managed in play off
While it is not NBA playoff experience people have to understand that Wemby has competed at a high level before- Olympics silver medalist as well as competed in the Finals leading his team as the guy in the euroleague as a teenager.
second round exit lol… I think everyone is about to be surprised when it comes to the playoffs.. theres not a more physical team than the spurs and dominating
Spurs will beat Denver to win the West. OKC is NOT a factor. They will be sucking pink drinks in the Caribbean when Wemby gets his ring.
