These Are NOT The Same Hornets

On January 1, the Charlotte Hornets were 11–22, beat up by injuries, and headed for another season that was going nowhere. Two months later, they’ve gone 20–9, they’re back over .500, and they’re playing like one of the best teams in the NBA.

And they just walked into Boston and didn’t just beat the Celtics, they embarrassed them by 29. When you do that to a real title contender in their building, you stop calling it a hot streak. You start asking the real question: greatest single season turnaround in NBA history?

  1. Moussa and Miles are so underrated on this team, they bring so much energy on the defense and offensive boards. then to have 7'1" Kalkbrenner to back up Diabate is soo great. I love that kid and he just needs to speed up a little bit and he can be very solid, already leading all rookies in dunks and blocks per game

  2. We winning it all. Only because every player plays so well with each other. Everyone plays their part. No selfish plays. Every player is a threat. So we can actually rest our players when they up. We use to have a problem in closing games. And when lamelo is out. Now that’s all fixed. If we blow out Miami today. It’s gonna be set in stone.

  3. What I love about the Hornets is that they aren't winning the way OKC does by foul baiting and getting to the line. They just have solid defense, great rebounding, and a dynamic offense.

  4. LaMelo is a very willing passer with scoring gravity. Surround him with 2 knockdown shooters who can create their own shot and 3 rebounding machines and you can see why this Hornets team is a first round nightmare if they make the Playoffs.

  5. As a new basketball fan, I think the Hornets are probably the closest thing I have to a favorite team because the only reason I even got into basketball was watching LaMelo highlights on YouTube shorts that would just randomly pop up lmao

  6. Hornets on their revenge arc against the Pistons 😂.
If it wasn't for the suspensions things would be different.

    Can't wait for the rematch.

  7. I was 4 years old when the hornets last won a playoff series. I’m now 27 😂 please make it happen Charlotte!

  8. Why do these videos keep mentioning Melo, Miller, Kon and now White, but act like Miles Bridges doesn’t exist? The man has been averaging 20+ points for three straight seasons even while the Charlotte Hornets were dealing with injuries and half the roster being G-League call-ups.

I understand people bring up his past, but to my knowledge he hasn’t had any new incidents and both the courts and the NBA already punished him. Hate him if you want, but if you’re going to report on a team, then report on the whole team.

At some point it just looks like selective coverage. And honestly, if someone hates players that much for their past, they should probably check the history of a lot of the people printed on the money in their own pocket

  9. I'm so happy for my hometown hornets. We need a good season after all the bad times. Buzz City 4 Life

  10. Can't forget about Grant Williams! He has been great subbing in for any of the 3 shooters and keeping the 3pt pressure high, he knocks them down too.

  11. a first round matchup between the hornets and pistons would be cool. both being turnaround recent turnaround teams and having beef from their last game would make it very exciting but even better would be in the ECF
