As the season winds down, the Phoenix Suns are enjoying the contributions of rookie duo Rasheer Fleming and Khaman Maluach. Their play couldn’t be more timely, as they’ve proven to be the perfect reinforcements for the Suns’ playoff push.

Fleming is heading in the right direction.
Maluach needs to be a more mean and impose his will as a defensive anchor. Dillon brooks is the man to help him in the mental part of the game
What happened to brea? We could use his outside shooting.
Rasheer could be a really solid 3 and d player for the Suns. His defensive instincts with his long wingspan are a great combination for the Suns. His shot looks good. I feel like he rushes shots from 3. If he could slow down his shot mechanics, I think he’ll turn into a really good 3 and d player.
Man-Man is fun to watch, needs to stay imposing and not just be a big body in there. Seemed like he couldve had far more than four points, if not for lack of being targeted.

What happened to Jamaree Bouyea? He was playing really well off the bench earlier in the season, and brought a nice energy off the bench. Fleming has played really well lately, nailing his shots and dishing to others. I just wish the Suns would play Green more like a traditional point guard. With his speed, give him the ball to drive to the basket for layups or to dish to open shooters. We don't need him to be another 3pt shooting guard.

Maluach hat 5 Blocks gesetzt. Das Problem unter Ott bleiben: Shotselection, Wurfquote, Points in the paint. In allen drei Fällen kann man sich verbessern. Auch Fastbreaks kann man besser laufen. Als im 3. Viertel gegen die Pelicans Booker heißgelaufen ist, natürlich mit Otts ultimative weapon "shooting from downtown", wurde dieser Moment komplett abgewürgt von Ryan Dunn. Erst stealt Dunn noch den Ball und kann frei vor dem Korb einfach nicht punkten. Dann rettet Dunn den Ball und Zion bedankt sich. Dunn agiert maximal unglücklich und Ott muss im Sommer, finde ich, seine Taktik optimieren. Tatsächlich wird Oso unter Ott sichtbar besser, aber Oso ist nicht der Scorer. Er nutzt seine Gelegenheiten, steht aber auch oft mut dem Rücken zum Korb. In der Schlussphase hat man wie gegen die 76ers in Philly und gegen die Cavs zu Hause gesehen, dass das Team immer noch mit seiner Abstimmung hadert. Ott zieht nicht in Betracht, dass 5 Spieler auf dem Feld stehen, sondern für ihn ist klar: der Ball muss zu Booker, Green oder Allen. Und das sieht man dann auch im Spiel. Alles verlanfsamt sich und der Aufwand wird größer, weil der Gegner nie überrascht werden kann. Und genau deshalb steht Dunn in bei mir in der Kritik, weil seine Position offensiv verkümmert. Kein Mitteldisranzwurf, kein Spin Move, kein Fade away jumper. Nix. Bestenfalls mal ein Dreipunktewurf. Aber auch hier sieht man z.B. bei Allen, dass er aufgezerrt ist. Er wurft Backsteine und Airballs. In der Statistik sieht man es: 92 Würfe insgesamt, was schon ein hoher Wert ist. Davon 66% von Booker, Green und Allen. Das ist eindeutig zuviel. Das war gegen die Bulls, wo man locker hätte gewinben können, wenn Ott sein Offensivspiel breiter aufstellen würde. Also Oso, Fleming und Dunn bzw Coffee immer eine legotime Option darstellen. Dem war nicht so. Ott hat es mut Green erzwingen wollen und ist gescheitert. Selbst in der Schlusssekunde One-Man-Show Green. Und Maluach ist der Beweis: Du könntest auch Wemby unter Ott spielen lassen und Wemby käme auf 6 Pts, 4 Rebs und 5 Blks.
