Can’t Beat Brooklyn Without Cade? Big Problem
The Detroit Pistons suffered arguably their most embarrassing loss of the season, falling 107–105 to the Brooklyn Nets—a team sitting near the bottom of the NBA standings. Detroit made the decision to rest their franchise star Cade Cunningham, and the absence was felt in every critical moment of the game.
Without Cade’s leadership, playmaking, and late-game scoring, the Pistons struggled to generate consistent offense and lacked the composure needed to close out a very winnable matchup. Against a Nets team that has struggled throughout the season, this was a game Detroit had no business losing, yet costly mistakes and stagnant offense down the stretch allowed Brooklyn to steal the win.
Losses happen in the NBA, but this one stings because it highlights just how valuable Cade Cunningham is to this team. When he’s off the floor, the Pistons’ offense looks completely different—and tonight proved that Detroit cannot afford to take nights off against teams they should beat.
For a team trying to establish itself as a serious contender in the Eastern Conference, games like this serve as a reminder that focus and execution are required every night in the NBA.

You all keep saying we need a "shooter ", NO we need another BUCKET GETTA/SCORER / CREATOR. Cam Thomas was released and TL did make that move. Monk would have been an excellent pickup.
Bro speaking facts. Unfortunate TL needs a 600 game sample size to make a decision
I thought Chaz would have gotten some playtime last night
Good video. I'm with you, but my patience may not make it to the summer but that'll be my cut off. I honestly checked out after the Ivey trade because I knew what was really up and that this ship was about to sank fast. I rathered them been a fourth seed developing the young guys than this mess they doing now. Cavs fans may have been right smh. I am checked out on JB. I didn't come into this season excited to see 30 mintues of Duncan and 20 minutes of Levert a game. Hear it from me now. THIS COACH IS NOT IT. If they feel they're past the rebuild/ development stage they need to bring in a more playoff/championship savvy coach or well be back to a rebuild in 2-3 years.
Right before the trade deadline, I said Boston, Cleveland, and New York will beat us come April, May. Now Boston has 2 bigs, Tatum and Brown. Cleveland has 2 Real Deal Playmakers. New York is just Knickerbocking. Next season will get spooky for us Indiana will get a high pick+Zubac (and free agency to fill holes), Boston WILL reload, Do the Knicks land Giannis?, Hornets are creeping up on folks, and Orlando just needs an offensive break glass in case of emergency type player. While we get shooters who cant shoot, and a GM who is more non aggressive than bubbles g
Yall sounding like Knick fans with championship aspirations! Relax, it’s a long grueling season sometimes these things happen! It is hard being number one. You win you lose. This season is a trial season. I’m sure they’re gonna make some big moves in the summer so we can chase after the chip. Patience Detroit is here to stay championship in two years.
Overreacting for sure especially if yall think we first round knockouts
Everything King 👑 for GM f**k Trajan he’s trash I called it at the trade deadline he’s single handily ruining this team already theirs is no reason Chaz not playing Coach stop showing favoritism to Cari’s Embarass hurt Lervert <—- new nickname 😂😂
What everyone is ignoring, this Pistons core is still Weavers team. What has Langdon done, frfr? Jenkins haven't did ish! And if we were going to trade JI, we should've got Troy Murphy. He fits a need, our play style and Cade timeline. JI, another player, 1st and a couple 2nds! We didn't use our trade exception, that would've helped. I luv JD, but he is no true no.2 and max player. Hell naw to MPJ, dudes a vacuum. They wanted a 1st for him. No dice! Endgame, I'll say at least give Sasser, Jenkins minutes. I also said we needed another scoring for the playoff run. A couple off games by Cade and we done. Still rocking w/my guys, but definitely a lil worried.
In every sport, teams are figuring and adjust things in the first half of the season. But the second half, legitimate contenders rise up. Last year we saw this same thing in baseball. The Tigers dominated the league in the first half and fizzled after the all-star break. The Lions went from a super bowl contender two years ago to a washed up, non-playoff making mess. Now the Pistons are not rising to the occasion and we rely on Cade waaaaaaay to much. Teams are now familiar with us and what we did in the first half of the season will be shutdown in the second half. Then we will discover that Jenkins is not what we thought; Robinson is easy to stop; Duren is foul proned; and Harris has zero D. I hope JB has some tricks left in his bag or I can't see us do any better in the playoffs than we did last year.
What makes it worse is this is probably the best opportunity to win it all the Pistons will have for years, and the front office a like…Nah
daniss jenkins and carris lavert…cant run a offense..thats why we lost this game…
Facts!!! Wonderful show king!
I am tired of these fools gold teams. They look nice and polished and full of promise for most of the season, then towards the end of the season we look worn and tarnished. Please for once can we have a competent GM who is willing to make necessary moves when we desperately need it smh..
The implicit bias of sportscasters against the pistons is real – win or loss! Wow!!!
Trash Lanier 😂 man that was a horrible pick. He a cone just like the other two shooters
Langdon blew it 2 years in a row
Is this a case of small success getting into their heads? I hope not.. this is not only embarassing, but totally disappointing
I hope JB sees this. He's so complacent bro
Cringe intro….
Same thing with the Red Wings. Those Las Vegas and Florida losses were inexcusable. I see another March collapse inbound. Detroit sports is in trouble right now
I don’t think the Pistons can do any better as constructed. The GM has not made any significant upgrades.
Last season after Ivey got hurt, we could have swooped up Levine. This season MPJ was the obvious pick up. The Championship window is wide open and if we don’t make a major move or 2 this summer, it might close.
Hopefully Langdon doesn’t do some dumb 💩 like trade Ausar this summer.
Finally, JB Bickerstaff, the city has spoken. We don’t want to see Careless LeVert.
He has a plan for nxt season and never wavered from that. This is the last yr of evaluation. It’s time to make moves at end of the season. Yes give Chaz a shot🤙🏼
We're gonna look back at this stretch as the beginning of the end or the adversity we needed to come together…we will see. But no question if we flop from here, Trajan is under pressure this summer.
That was a disgraceful loss. We're not out of it, but their heads aren't in it either. They did nothing at the deadline to help us at all. Jenkins unfortunately is struggling now after his contract, so hopefully THAT fixes itself soon… Collectively, most of our guys can't throw a beach ball in the ocean if they were sunk on the Titanic. We have Chaz Lanier sidelined with a sniper mentality, decent measurables and athleticism, and what looks to be no shot at doing anything but torching the G-League to death and being a cheerleader for the main squad. WTF are we doing? Get Cade some help! Teams doint guard the perimeter against us much because why should they? Then the paint is packed and hard for us to get to the rim. This is wild.
In the late 80s, the bad boys got rid of Adrian Dantley and picked up Mark McGuire and won back to back championships. In the early 2000s they treated grand Hill for Ben Wallace and Chucky Atkins traded Jerry Stackhouse for ripped Hamilton because we needed scoring signed Chauncey Billups signed Rasheed Wallace and not only did we win the championship we arguably became the best defensive team in history.
