How The San Antonio Spurs Built The NBA’s Scariest Young Squad…

The San Antonio Spurs have built the scariest young core in the NBA — and this is how they did it. In this video, we break down how San Antonio went from tanking to terrifying. Drafting Victor Wembanyama changed everything, and adding Stephon Castle created the perfect two-way partnership. The front office nailed the rebuild, surrounding Wemby with the right pieces at the right time. We analyze the draft picks, the development, and how San Antonio constructed the most frightening young team in basketball.

  1. The only thing they dont have is playoff experience. Even if they will exit early, just watching spurs reach playoffs again is already a good treat.

  2. I'm a die hard Spurs fan since the 80s and I knew the league would rig the Wemby draft for him to go to San Antonio with Pop. Last year they had two picks and they couldn't get the #1 because the league rigged the draft again for the Dallas trade. Since they couldn't get #1 they got the next best thing and they got the #2. The other pick they had was the last pick because they just couldn't rig it that heavy for the Spurs. The league has always been pro Spurs and I am not mad at because I am a fan. I just know it's rigged like WWE. I just drove 4.5 hours to see them beat Philly by 40 on the road. They had 8 players score double digits and Wemby sat half the game with only 10 pts. He had 6 blocks and 3 steals though. Vassell was the game leader, which shows how crazy this team. Carter also had a good game.

  3. Not mentioning keldon johnson is criminal. Bro is one of the best six men all year !

  4. Beat the best team in the east twice now! We spanked them in San Antonio last night I’m so mad I choose the last home OKC game over the Pistons game last night for my game of the season

  5. Let me guess without watching: they had Number 1, Number 2, Number 4, Number 8 and Number 14 pick in the last 5 years? One of which is an alien that literally doesn't make sense physically.
Not even the Kings would mess up that wealth.

  6. i'm calling it!!

as long as this Spurs team stays healthy and intact, Luka Doncic, Devin Booker, Cade Cunningham and Cooper Flagg will never win a ring. This potential dynasty will be the strongest we have. Por Vida!!

  7. Why is Carter Bryant listed at 6'6?… 🤔 🤷🏾‍♂️ From the thumbnail he is at least 2 inches taller than both Stephon Castle and Dylan Harper, who are both listed at 6'6

  8. As a spurs fan and seeing how things played out with Kawai and losing pop, I'm impressed just how quickly this team turned things around. I'm excited to see what they do in the playoffs.

  9. a without wemby, all other players are just nothing… with wemby, all other players looks like stars in your eyes.. all bullshit talk

  10. 7 game series against Pistons is a piece of cake. Spurs' only weekness is good 3 pt shooting teams. Pistons aint that lol. OKC is mid, so it depends on how they are shooting that game. but given the 4-1 against them in the regular season I like the Spurs' odds.

  11. A "ranDu"m thawt 🤔 💭… dang! After hearing this take on how the Spurs rebuilt the franchise into what anyone who likes bball and enjoys b'n a fan of these guys, is watching today, imo, the narrator had it sound like Pop, with certain decisions, took the team to Duncan's Black Jack Shop and got new parts. Now the Spurs are really starting to hum like that engine mechanics enjoy listening to when they did the same thing to their favorite car. To pay homage to Kawhi's reason for still driving the same college vehicle. "It's paid for and it runs. I'm a fun guy. Unhhuhuhhuhuh" 😆 🤣 😂 And now they look Fast & Furious – Let's g😮 Spurs g🏀 👍 !!!! 🏆

  12. I think people sort of understand how big that 2024 season was. But still underrate it. We added two big time vets to assist our young guys. Both Paul and Barnes played the full season. Paul especially helped Wemby and Castle. But they were still bad enough to grab a lottery pick. Somewhat fleeced the Kings getting rid of a bad contract and not giving up any of those Atlanta picks, nor did we give them either of the lottery picks which tufned into Harper and CB. 2024 was huge.

  13. Castle, Wemby and Harper… with ties to MJ… that's not stopping anytime soon. Vassell is on a tear also.

  14. Man I want the Nuggets to be good again because I love this channel going in depth about their success but since recent performance have been horrible I dont think this channel discuss denver in like the next few months kinda a shame but good video dude😂😂😂

  15. idk what it is, maybe its a form of mutual respect, but international NBA fans understand the spurs so much better than American fans. They not only see the vision but they understood the come up, the hows and whys of the spurs which influence our decisions today. great video!

  16. Jalen Johnson BREAKDOWN you're next video Hoops Central 😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤

  17. This is a great analysis and breakdown. New subscriber for you! Thanks for paying attention to the Spurs. To answer your question: I think the Spurs are talented enough to make a WCF run. We need to assess their performance under high pressure in the playoffs before we can decide anything. Truly, you can’t really predict how far they will go this year, but it will be the measuring stick to be able to predict future seasons
