The Rise & Fall Of The Ja Morant Grizzlies
The Memphis Grizzlies are set to miss the playoffs for the second time in the past two seasons and two of their core players from their previous playoff teams are now gone. Ja Morant who once looked like their franchise player is likely on his way out soon as well. So what happened to that young defensive 56 win team from just 4 seasons ago?

Going to be a legendary classic team on 2k
turns out the real star of the ja morant era grizzlies was dillion brooks
Not saying they would have won a championship with him, but I think the wheels really fell off when they fired Jenkins. Firing the winningest coach in your franchise's history when he was going to get them to the playoffs that year with a flawed roster is inexcusable, and I'm glad they're struggling as a result of that impulsivity.
Also, note, Colorado has laws against guns in clubs regardless of licensing, so Ja was also literally breaking the law.
Their biggest mistake was trading Dillon Brooks. He was the glue guy for that team. It's more evident now that wherever he goes the team improves because of what he contributes on both offense and on defense.
Ja got over his head. The bright lights was too bright for him. While he was the superstar of the team, Bane was the leader of the team.
17:18 sorry where now?!? 😢
Draymond joining in on the whoop that trick while his team is losing is Oakland Warriors energy😂😂 breh got hyphy
They were definitely not fine in the west
I guess you could say they were not in fact fine in the west
16:06 yall just dishonest with this part. those injuries played a huge part. No Steven Adams and Brandon Clarke led to the lakers front court dominating. Check the stats.
I for one never believed in that young Memphis core. It was mostly because of Dillon Brooks' on-court antics. Then Ja's off-court ones took over. So, yeah. Nope.
Looking back at it they might’ve messed up trading Conley so early he would’ve been a great vet for them on the court and in the locker room
24:31 we literally have 90% of our salary cap sidelined lol.
Almost broke my thumb when the noti popped up on screen😤
I know people are clowning on the Magic but they're still above .500 and Bane is the only reason why they're not cellar dwellers right now. It's not seen in the box score but he has been singlehandedly responsible for winning close games all year. Also hasn't missed a game. The team is still disappointing but I can't say Bane has been.
Cedric Coward was selected as the 11th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers, immediately traded to the Memphis Grizzlies. Bad trade by the Blazers.
As a Grizzlies fan i am not sure why i am choosing to watch this video but here i am
Legendary lunch break pull.
5:38 we don’t mention that name out loud✌🏽
"I'm fine with the west" really aged like fine wine
Day 10 of asking synthetic sports to run the Der Eosendrache easter egg with me
Turns out the guy who was jettisoned under any circumstance was the glue
That Draymond quote was so dumb, the Grizzlies weren't gonna be a dynasty with or without Dillon Brooks lmfaoo
Worth noting that the offensive system wasn't Iisalos, it was Noah la Roche who's using the same system in Miami right now
Betting my house on Memphis now
Tbh it all started with the injuries wouldn't even be a discussion if everybody could stay healthy wouldve made the wcf
2:50 *previous three seasons? Do you mean? For "past" I usually think of back from now, previous I think back from THEN
