  1. This team is awful! Max and PJ are bench players that need a PG to set them up. They need 2 new starters next year to go with Kyrie, Flagg and lively. Also Bwill is great off the bench.

  2. Hear me out, I think we need another true center over 7 feet who plays over 60 games a year, a 3 point shooting center seems to be the hardest thing to find right now in free agency and the draft

  3. It’s now obvious how much a good pg and playmaker can make your team better. Flagg isn’t a pg and doesn’t have the handle to be primary ball handler

  4. Been watching the NBA, and Mavs in particular, since '81. This year's officiating is some of the worst I can remember. The inconsistency from quarter to quarter is absurd, and it is laughably obvious that certain players (Dort, etc.) are being consciously allowed to foul because of their "playing physical" reputation. And I can never remember so much blatant holding the whistle until the shot misses, then calling a foul – there are a lot of refs making deliberate, arbitrary decisions on what is and isn't a foul. The "it's rigged" theories are stupid (thousands of people can't keep a secret like that), but the majority of refs are obviously paying attention to reputations and narratives, and calling games accordingly.

  5. While I agree with Slightly on Acuff generally, he would be a steal with the second 1st that the Mavs have

  6. 19:37 …….Well BWill is likely gone and Naji and PJ should return to their normal roles, as Dallas’ 4th and 5th options after more three level scorers like Kyrie and hopefully whoever we get in this draft get into the rotation. Or even with the MLE or by trade. They should recede into Naji mostly taking his one bankable shot and dishing and PJ focusing on what he does best. Don’t know what that is but that’s why he will be the 5th option. It’s below 10 shots a game for both, with only a few from 3.

  7. White players rarely have a whistle. Luka does simply bc refs have to call atleast 10% of the craip teams do to him. Nba is a rigged org.

  8. Cooper needs to turn himself into what Kawhi became right now. Kawhi added the three-pointer to his game, which is badly needed in this era. Kawhi wasn't shooting threes early in his career, but he understood that he needs to keep up. Cooper needs to do this early. This is why Knueppel looks really good right now, coz the long ball is more in-demand during this time.

  9. And one thing about the guards.
They take long time to develop, and I think Flemings, Brown Jr, will take whole rookie contract to do so.
Accuf on the hand, probably will know if he will bust or not within 2 months.

  10. A game like today should help motivate cooper to really focus on his strength and refining his 3pt shot

  11. The truth is you can't evaluate anybody on this roster because there's absolutely no space they're asking PJ and Cooper to do things that they're not supposed to do. The top four guys in talent on this team have either been traded never played or gotten hurt. Four of your five possible starters have barely played. PJ has gotten injured Gafford has gotten injured. You can't tell what you have there's absolutely no gravity out there to see if he's in a slump or not.

  12. You know watching the Boston Celtics play the other night… If Dallas gets the number one the number 3 pick and they have a chance at Boozer they need to pick him. No team does more with less than the Celtics. But the reason why is because they pick smart effective players that can do a little bit of everything and that's what Cam is he can do a little bit of everything he's smart and he doesn't care about himself he cares about winning I am tired of watching selfish basketball at times we need guys that are smart that want to win. Not because of their contract not cuz of a shoe deal but because they actually want to represent the city of Dallas

  13. The path to deep playoff run is very improbable and far far off into the future, unless we get lucky in the draft again, rebuild will take the but we also need the right management

  14. Regarding small guards and using Donovan Mitchell as a comp: he has a 6’10” wingspan so he is really more like 6’5” or 6’6” in terms of reach and functional size

  15. I get what Slightly is saying about Acuff Jr and in general small guards, but ill say this, any PG we potentially get in the draft would would be an understudy to Kyrie, which might be really valuable, but also they would be secondary to Flagg and just need to be a strong playmaker and complimentary piece to Flagg. Mavs desperately need a playmaking guard. Jamal Murray, De'aron Fox, Donovan Mitchell, Jalen Brunson, Fred Van Fleet, CJ McCullum, Tyrese Maxey(!)all have been successful at their size(all the same size as Acuff Jr) and as a secondary guy, we need a playmaker to compliment Flagg and his growth.
Oh and I have an extra faith in guards coached by Calipari. Calipari coaches guys(especially guards) to be successful in the NBA, which is why guys go to him. I have no issue at all with getting Acuff Jr if opportunity is there. From what I can tell, in the upcoming Draft, Mavs first pick should be someone who can provide a playmaking ability to compliment Flagg(unless Caleb Wilson is there, you take him because he can be a elite wing defender and potential offensive upside is high) and Mavs second pick in the first rd should be a guy who can have strong potential defensive upside.

  16. It is not the refs. Dallas is just not very good, Cooper is not Luka, and it may take a good 4-7 years to rebuild this team into a contender. That is the reality of all of this. Dallas is banking on an older player returning from an ACL injury and an unknown draft pick. That is highly unlikely to produce championship results.

  17. In the NBA, it is not really height that matters all that much; it is width. TV is one big illusion. I remember watching Larry Bird on TV. He looked like a tall, skinny, white guy in short shorts. Then, I met Larry. Larry Bird is absolutely massive in real life. He is as wide as a refrigerator. You have to get around that width to get to the basket or make a rebound. It is extremely difficult. Luka is that way, too. The man is massive. I do think the league in general has become a league where you have to be 6'4" or taller to play in it unless you have freakish abilities, such as Kyrie or Peyton Pritchard with dribbling the ball. Then again, things change with time. Eventually, we will see the return of massive centers and post-up games. Then, smaller guards will be drafted because they can outrun those guys. It all goes in cycles.

  18. 35:14 …..Slightly very anti-Acuff.
If the Mavs feel the same way we are in a pickle deciding between Philon and ……..someone else. Mikel Brown, Isaac’s BFF? Is that the choice if we are unlucky?
    Brown, Acuff or Philon?
Acuff is the only one I’ve seen consistently put up big numbers.
Twenty four straight games of 17 or better.
    Five double figure assist games.
    Gets to the line.
    44% from 3.
Plays heavy minutes and doesn’t miss games.
    Detroit tough.
Doesn’t turn the ball over much (3 to 1 assist to turnover ratio).
His only question imo is can he hold up against the best offensive players on switches (Luka, SGA, Edwards, etc)???
    Probably not.
But who can in this draft?
Good will have triumph over great in this draft because none of these guys will be great defensively.
Just one more piece in the rotation.

  19. The Acuff disrespect is getting out of hand lol I didn’t think Slighty would be in on it too smh

  20. The Mavs are terrible. Do you guys really think that a healthy Irving and Lively will make that big of a difference and make them a playoff team next season?

  21. The real issue with fouls is always an issue when the game is not called equally for both teams. If you let physical play go for one team it must be let go for the other team as well.
