Seriously, how did anyone watch him in college and not think this would happen in the NBA? It’s not his fault he was the number one pick, but it was always insane because this outcome was OBVIOUS.
I’ve been saying to trade Paolo for a while now… if you’re not gonna trade him you gotta bring in a better first option, or even just running the offense through Anthony Black or Desmond Bane would be better, and get Paolo his buckets through the back door and cuts. He can’t drive against a set up defense, he struggles to find the open man when he gets doubled while he’s posting up often resulting in turnovers. He’s not a bad player but they’re not utilizing his strengths well.
Y’all said the same thing about Luca you said the same thing about Anthony Edwards. You said the same thing about a lot of guys until those guys got serious roster depth around them.
You can have the best player, but if you don’t have an adequate roster or a coach that can run plays and not repeat the same thing over and over “sit down and guard” and “gotta give credit to the other team” then you can’t blame your best player. Paolo is still young, but Mosley came in a rookie and developmental coach, we need a winning coach now. Nobody wins a championship with a rookie coach. He did his part, now we move in to the next level coach, if at that part it doesn’t work, then by all means all fingers at Paolo, but right now, Mosley runs a high school offense, defend and run, he can’t even run plays to get Bane open threes like he did in Memphis. It’s a coaching issue.
Franz Wagner the real honcho on that squad, everybody knows it. Paolo’s bag is just so limited on his 5th year. Second best player on that team? Desmond Bane. Just facts man.
To be fair asking a 23 year hold to impact meaningful Winning is a bit too much to ask. Paolo isn’t Wemby or Ant. When they were 23 Shai and Cade had absolutely no impact to winning in the league. None of them had the expectations Paolo has now
They have one of the very best rosters in the league, though still flawed. They should’ve prioritized adding a point guard but seemingly entrusted Paolo to be their “point forward”. A ridiculous decision considering he has never shown himself to be capable of self generating his offense at an efficient level so he obviously needs someone else to assist.
They also overpaid Jalen Suggs for his role, considering his injury history. I would flip him in the offseason for a player like Andrew Nemhard (even if they have to include a pick to get off the contract) then replace the coach.
The team is way too talented to have such mediocre results
The sad thing here is we know how it'll unfold. They'll fire Mosley who's a decent coach. Then they'll end up trading Paolo after a season or two later because he isn't getting it done in Orlando
It’s all better now after two huge road wins against our northern friends by an avg shellacking score of 125-91. That’s right! 34 points spread per game! AND it was on the second night of a back to back!
Even Paolo opened Pandora’s box! He averaged 29pts 10-3 on 64% (22/34) shooting. 4-11 from Three.
I’m a happy Magic fan but I won’t be satisfied until we jump a few teams in the East.

These guys suck at their job neither can make a left hand layup
Luka and Ant are both overrated. Ant will disappear as soon as it REALLY counts and Luka is so one-dimensional his team will NEVER win a championship.

Mike Malone could use a job interview
Trade Banchero for Giannis
I just don’t think paolo fits there anymore . The Magic and Banchero both need to move on and start anew .

Smell Magic blood in the water much? Sheesh!
