This situation is really, really sad – and that's putting it mildly. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy we finally won after such a long time, but what's happening with Cooper is honestly scary. It feels like I'm watching two completely different people: Cooper before the foot injury and Cooper after it.
Think about how it used to be almost every pick-and-roll went through him. He would just attack the rim relentlessly. If he didn't score, he'd get fouled and then knock down the free throws.
But now he's just standing in the corner. And even when he does try to attack, he can't finish. It honestly hurts to watch. I'm almost in tears about it. I really want him to win Rookie of the Year, but with every game it feels like the chances are getting smaller and smaller.
God, I love Cooper so much and I really want everything to work out for him. I hope things turn around there aren't many games left.
