  1. I can't help but laugh whenever I hear someone in the sports world describe Boston as "notoriously" racist back in the 1950s & 60s. One, because back then Boston wasn't notorious for anything except mob activity and two, because every single other city, town, municipality, borough, hamlet, and burgh in america was just as, if not more, racist than Boston. But I get why the narrative is such low-hanging fruit for non-Boston sports fans.
Sports fans would rather equate one act of vandalism and one riot to the myriad of actual lynchings, cross burnings, disappeared people, segregation, and kkk activity from ohio to florida to oklahoma. Boston had a wealth divide that affected white people as well, the difference was Boston didn't pretend it didn't exist, and actively wrote laws to mitigate and fix the issues. Did it solve racism? no. Is there still work to do? yes. Does the work live in race-related issues alone? no. It is seated in the wealth disparity.

  2. Today's team is made up of most players drafted after the 24th pick. JT and JB are third picks, and Vucevic is a 16th pick.

  3. I love my celtics but we can't forget that unfortunately they only have 2 championships since 1987. I know the big 3 would have had 2 or 3 not just 1 chip if injuries didn't destroy them after 2008. But many missed opportunities.
